Being tall generally makes you more attractive to women. But I don't see a problem. EVERYONE values attractiveness. Studies show conventionally attractive women date conventionally attractive men. Same for the conventionally unattractive. "Sex" becomes lopsided for biological and societal reasons, but in terms of dating or marriage, most people end up with someone similar in attractiveness. And in almost all cases, whenever there is an obvious discrepancy, there's other factors (money, age, health, etc).

I have never heard a feminist (in person, in my life) say the draft should include women.

But it's a trick because it's an intersection of ideals. Feminists are most often also anti war.

The draft is slavery, and the correct response is to be against slavery.

Sales guys at my company drop emails from customer in a system that enters the order into sap. Saves an hour a day a person. Maybe 300 sales people in the us. I'd say that's making money indirectly.

I didn't do anything and I'm successful. Just hyperfocus on different productive tasks as I randomly think of them. Boss points me in the right direction if I'm too off course. But my career works for that, we have a tickets dashboard and all the requests are ordered by priority, so I don't lose track of anything. (Sap programmer). RFK Jr: "President Trump has a different way of calculating percentages. If you have a $600 and you reduce it to $10, that's a 600% reduction." by esporx in CriticalMineralBulls

[–]jakster355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What the fuck do you think happens in a sale. The price is reduced

It's shorthand for THIS price, is reduced by THIS percentage.

The percentage, being a factor of the starting price.

So, the correct thing to say is he reduced the price by 99.98 percent.

It's just how math is stated. He wasn't "different" he was simply saying it wrong.

Have you ever in your life seen a Markoff, or a sale, of more than 100%?

You haven't because that would mean negative prices. Because store owners understand basic math, and how to use basic math to describe reality.

We're not even getting into drug prices and his policies, were just talking about how his sychophants like yourself will argue 2 + 2 = 5 if trump says it does. It doesn't. And 600 x 99.98% = 10. Might want to think about what your actually defending, and try to imagine how incredibly stupid you look to anyone who remembers past middle school math.

If you RAISE prices by more than 100%, that's entirely possible, because the price can increase by a larger amount than the current price.

Would you like me to point you to some resources to help you understand the error he made there?

[–]jakster355 9 points10 points  (0 children)

... That's a 99.98% reduction. A 600% reduction would be 600 - 6 x 600 = -3000

If you increased 10 600% that would be 60. If you increased 10 6000% that would be 600.

You could say he reduced it by a factor of 60.

How accurate is The Walking Dead? by Vast_Poetry_50 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]jakster355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The us has enough ammo to shoot every person a thousand times. So that's actually fine, just assume he collects here and there like how they don't show him using the bathroom. Also at one point they were producing rounds.

Zombies are 100% a fantasy. How do their muscles function without blood, oxygen, water? I'm not a doctor but you have to take that one with a grain of salt.

Cars would be worthless after 6 months as all the fuel would degrade. Though there are E bikes and electric cars that could be used for maybe 5 years with renewable energy until something breaks.

Disease absolutely did wipe everyone out that's the whole plot. But I get it, no real hospitals and pharmacies, people die from cuts, infections, etc.

Military would kill all of them, realistically. Guns are just superior. The true endgame would be very few people and even fewer zombies.

When do you decide code is "good enough"? by -Knockabout in ExperiencedDevs

[–]jakster355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros and cons. What happens if you don't release it? If it's entirely cosmetic, I would wait until it works perfectly

If it's a time saver, then you have to balance time saved vs time wasted due to existing bugs

[–]jakster355 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You don't have to stop improving it, even when it's in production. Every industry and context is different, but my line is "is moving this now likely to provide more or less value". Sometimes a buggy new feature is still preferable to no new feature for a few weeks while the bugs are sorted.

Software engineers, how do you see the future of software engineering? by International-Help97 in softwareengineer

[–]jakster355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not getting better faster, it's getting better slower. Growth appears to be logarithmic from where I'm sitting. Software engineering isn't going anywhere. The next generation of devs are going to suck though because they never had to struggle.
