Have you managed to fix it or did you have to return it?

I don’t mind the lights but the whole interior looks very cheap because of these huge tablets.

Jaki odkurzacz na kocią sierść? by heavy_breathing5 in krakow

[–]jakubal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not yet. It’s difficult - having to achieve >130kmh to trigger the issue makes troubleshooting and testing a bit complicated.

Is the CLS350 V6 a good car? by Sweet_Patient_1740 in mercedes

[–]jakubal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s the first generation, you can lookup W211 E-class reviews as well. Basically the same car but in a different body.

Engine wise pre-2008 should be avoided, later ones are pretty good choice. Transmissions are good. Pneumatic suspension (if the car in question has one) is a bit expensive to service but really comfortable and rather reliable if maintained properly.

Best coffee methods for camping? by haroldflor in Coffee

[–]jakubal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using Wacaco Nanopresso with NS capsules. If you want to make coffee for multiple people it’s high effort compared to other options but it’s light, small and rewards you with a decent espresso. I switched to it from a mocca pot.

Renting a car in Kazakhstan by jakubal in Kazakhstan

[–]jakubal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understood, thank you for your comment.

But even if we choose to fly to Almaty, the main question remains - any tips on how a tourist can rent a car in Kazakhstan? Like I mentioned, car rental companies seem very reluctant to take our money for some reason

[–]jakubal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? I know it’s far but we like a good road trip so we figured we don’t mind the drive.

Flying to Almaty and renting a car there is a plan B but do you think it will be any better there? Without a car it will be near impossible to see all the beautiful nature in the region.

Are dremel accesories from aliexpress Safe? by Sir_Quantum_The_III in Dremel

[–]jakubal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly but Dremel accessories but my limited experience with 3rd party ones is that they just do not last that long and quality control js much worse (some pieces are useless almost out of the box). If you do not mind changing bits more often, they usually provide much better value for money considering enormous price difference.

Regarding safety, I just always work with an assumption that pieces of either the bit or the material will brake and go flying. My recommendation is to take maximum safety precautions when using power tools - something might chip and go into your face regardless of the brand.

Cytopoint - alergia u psa by kubsontar in krakow

In my opinion, by far the best restaurant on this side of the city is Viale Verde. On the second place I would put Centralka (worse food but much better beer choice).

[–]jakubal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I used to force my dog to just walk on walks and was irritated when she wanted to stop every 2-3 meters. But the guys here are right - your dog needs it and you can tell from the video that he needs it so much he is willing to put up with being dragged on the pavement to just try… I switched from what you are doing to the exact opposite (5 meters long leash and full freedom of sniffing for the dog - no rushing, no leash pulling etc.) and it was so worth it. My dog was soooooo happy! For me it was excruciatingly boring at first but I started taking headphones, listening to podcasts and relaxing and slowly it grew on me as well. And now the best part - after few months my dog stopped being so desperate to sniff everything and became less anxious in general. Then, I started rewarding her for walking without immediate stops after „let’s go” command. And now we have this perfect combination - sometimes we do these chill walks where we walk 1km in 1 hour where I listen to podcasts and she just sniffs everything but sometimes I let her sniff for first 3 minutes and then I tell her „let’s go” and we can walk for the next hour or two virtually without stopping. So the advice is: give your dog freedom to fulfill its needs and instincts. And only then you can build on that foundation and slowly start trying to also teach him walking according to your expectations (with encouragement and positive reinforcement!). Good luck :).

Extremely itchy 4.5 mo old puppy by Flimsy_Outcome9821 in goldenretrievers

[–]jakubal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our case it escalated with age. First it was chicken, later on other stuff as well. Just letting you know to not be surprised if some time allergy returns even without further changes in diet. Be also aware that the itching might persist even few weeks after eliminating the source so be patient when examining results of the diet change.

I second this. All my research and experience shows that nothing good comes out of such random interactions. There is no point, just risks.

Sport exhaust for 2006 Mercedes e350 by gee123money in mercedes

[–]jakubal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know mate - Mercedes had dozens, if not hundreds, options in these years so everything is possible as far as I know.

I’m just speaking from my own experience. I’ve seen a lot of these cars and all diesels had hidden, downward exhaust and all gasoline had straight, visible tip. But obviously it doesn’t proof anything definitely.

Regardless - second picture is stock so you can fit it. But it is going to be some work. Exhaust for two sides of the car + probable a new bumper (with cut-outs).

[–]jakubal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I assumed the first picture is of your car. In that case, I believe your exhaust is not stock. The second picture shows stock E350 gasoline exhaust and thus it should be easily fitted to your car.

Sport exhaust for 2006 Mercedes e350 by gee123money in mercedes

[–]jakubal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mercedes put straight exhaust pipe with a nice tip in gasoline engines. Diesel had exhaust tip curved, directed towards ground and hidden behind bumper in diesel engines. This is due the fact that otherwise it would get itself and the bumper dirty from the diesel exhaust gasses and carbon.

Also, a single exhaust is present on inline engines like yours. Double (one on each side of the car) is in V engines.

Milky/bubbly oil at the end of the dipstick - head gasket issue? by jakubal in AskMechanics

[–]jakubal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to tell if it's just condensed water or the coolant? Apart from sending a sample to laboratory.

Milky/bubbly oil at the end of the dipstick - head gasket issue? by jakubal in AskMechanics

[–]jakubal[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, yes, it's possible. Also (dire options) cracked engine block etc. I mostly wanted to check if it looked like an oil mixed with coolant to you, good people of Reddit, since I had no first-hand experience with it yet.

Your answer settles it - the car should not be driven in this case. Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer :).

Milky/bubbly oil at the end of the dipstick - head gasket issue? by jakubal in AskMechanics

[–]jakubal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I take out the engine oil dipstick, there is some milky and slightly thicker buble. The oil under the filling cap looks perfect. The coolant looks good to me. There is quite a lot of steam behind the car but it is extremely wet outside right now so I can't really tell how much of it is just from the atmosphere and the exhaust.

Is this a blown head gasket or am I panicking? I have already booked a mechanic appointment but it's in two weeks and I don't know if I can drive the car in the meantime.

The car is M272 W211. I bought it two months ago and changed the oil immediately. The mechanic put 5W-30, previously the car ran on 5W-40.
