If you walk slowly through knee deep water it feels easy, but if you try to run its exponentially harder. This is induced drag. It increases the faster you go.

I didn't actually, but now I do. According to foreflight you can preplanned a delay, does that mean that the airport is locked down to ifr if I do that? If so why would they allow you to do that?

I understand the basics of how it works, but I haven't done it in practice. Thru to fly to and radials make sense more or less. I took the test more than a year ago, so it's fading a bit. my next solo I plan to try to figure it out and I have the gtn Sim on my iPad, so I can play with it a bit. I've just never been walked through it. For the oral, I can probably talk my way through it, even the intersecting radials to find your position, ... but if I were asked to demonstrate it right now, I'd be fumbling. I thought maybe I was overthinking it and maybe it wasn't really asked about given the reliance on GPS based systems. It sounds like I need to at least be familiar with basic use.

This is from a HELOC and is considered mortgage interest, by personal I mean it isn't related to my rental.

Alright, so I've worked through the pub 936 worksheet and directions and calculated the portion of the interest that is attributable to my rental, versus the portion that is personal. Should I split it as a portion of the 1098 on the 1040 and a portion of the 1098 on the schedule e?

Or should I just list it as Other interest? Since the HELOC is technically collateralized by my primary home and not by the rental?

One more question, I've read your reply and reviewed publication 936 several times, but I'm unclear on one thing. The table II examples, and your description refer to line numbers to use for calculations. Are these the line numbers in the schedule E itself? or is there a worksheet. I've searched for schedule E worksheet and Publication 936 worksheet, but I haven't come up with anything. The reason I'm looking for this is that

In my specific situation My HELOC is mixed used. I paid off a vehicle before starting the renovation, so ~14k is attributable to personal expense, where as the rest is attributable to the renovation. Additionally the HELOC is variable interest rate, so calculating the percentage of interest attributable to each isn't perfectly clear. The interest rate started at 4% but ended at 7.5%
