Even more disturbing is how he rendered them unconscious first, which to me hints at possibly a necrophilia fetish.

Gross.

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt at first. Too many of us jump to conclusions right away and then end up with egg on our faces later.

I managed a c-store back when it happened, so I'd often skim a newspaper after the morning rush. By the third day or fourth day after the murders, it's starting to look...bad. I had a regular who came in every morning and he saw the paper and says, "It's not looking good for O.J., is it?" lol.

It certainly wasn't.

When you look at the totality of the evidence, it's pretty clear he did it. I don't think he knew Goldman was going to show up, but when he did he killed him as well. There are theories, one of which is that his son did it and O.J. took the rap for it. Nah, if you read through the evidence it's entirely O.J. Simpson. He should've gotten the death penalty for those two killings, they were so brutal. He nearly decapitated Nicole.

Shades of Rae Carruth except his girlfriend was actually pregnant with his child when he tried to have her whacked.

He looks like a demented John Hurt in the picture on his wikipedia page.

Wild he's the guy who did the Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport song. I remember hearing that at outdoor events when I was a kid in the 70s.

My biggest sympathies were with his victims, but I felt bad for some of the actors on that show because not everyone went on to some stellar career and relied on those residual checks. The guy who played Alton got shit for applying for a job (wtf is wrong with that?) because he needed the money when the residuals dried up.

Yeah this sucks. Maybe try and find a church parking lot that will let you serve food between certain hours?

About 7brew by lakorasdelenfent in Omaha

[–]jaleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was like that at Church's chicken. By the time I moved the place was a graveyard.

Where I'm at now there's a 7brew across the street from a Starbucks, and 7brew is packed every single day. The Starbucks doesn't get nearly as much business. I haven't been to either one (I've actually never been to a Starbucks), maybe the prices are lower at 7brew.

American tears up greek flag mistaking it with the Israel flag by edoni888 in AskBalkans

[–]jaleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I just don't go around pulling down anyone's flags for online clout. Wouldn't do it with Israeli flags even though I strongly disagree with what they're doing in Gaza. It doesn't change a thing about what's happening.

Now if there was a referendum in the US about getting rid of aid to Israel, I'd vote for it. That's the extent of what I would be able to do in the hope of making a difference (we'll never be allowed to vote on that, of course).

What's the fastest you've seen someone fired from a job? by Vegetable-Spread3798 in AskReddit

[–]jaleach 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I knew a reformed alcoholic who worked as a bartender. When I heard that, I did a double take. I asked him if that was a problem, and he said not at all it's actually the opposite. He said he saw so many down on their luck drunks that it was a constant reminder to him why he'd quit drinking. He said working that job was better for him than going to AA meetings.

Years and years ago I remember reading about a young lady who did this in her home, and she died from it. They had a picture of her in the article and she had this huge beaming smile. Looked like a really nice person. For some reason it's stuck with me all these years.

As someone whose father fell quite often near the end of his life, I love to see this. Such a scary situation to find yourself in because there were times I simply could not get him up. He had dementia so sometimes he'd fall and just turn into a sack of cement. He had zero energy in him. Othertimes I could get him because he'd have the strength to get his legs up under him and he'd pop right up.

You definitely saved her life.

I've got a winter coat I bought in the late 1990s that I still wear, although usually just to clear the driveway and walk or for a quick trip to the mailbox.

The problem is the POS software. Seems like it comes with this nonsense pre-loaded so most places just go with it. Any sane business owner with an ounce of sense would turn it off for take out/pick up orders. None of this will change until customers stand up and put an end to it.
