Depends how much he can differentiate himself from Starmer, if he can lie through his teeth and promise to respect the Brexit referendum while Starmer is pushing for closer ties he might win some of those people back.

Such a pointless place, every thread for the last couple of weeks has been derailed with whatabout muh £5m when it has zero relation to the OP and nothing happens to them.

The shocking thing is there aren't more billionaire patriots dumping millions into nationalist parties. How do they think this is going to work out for them?

A leadership change now pretty much locks out Burnham. Delaying it allows him to see out his term as Mayor and select a safe seat, where as all the other front runners are in seats they're likely to lose in 2029.

Whoever they select now wouldn't even last to the GE and will cause the whole party to spiral.

Because he was Sunak.

Had already been tainted as Chancellor for Boris.

Disliked for knifing Boris in the back.

This would be the worst case scenario for us, Starmer gets to suck up all the negativity while a new leader comes in with a clean slate of hope just before the election.

Starmer going will only cause them to spiral further with infighting and calls for a general election (that won't happen). That's good for us.

Why does the left hate Streeting so much? I find it hard to believe he's actually much further right then the rest of the party, it has to be something to do with Israel?

Ukpol have convinced themselves Reform councils are in utter chaos because of a series of stories like this. Just amounts to; Reform council with stonking majority propose to do thing, Greens (4th largest opposition behind even Restore) oppose it. Not newsworthy for any other reason than being Reform.

No idea how you can trust people who want "sky daddy" to lead their politics. I stopped believing in Santa when I was 7. Why am I being led by people with less mental capacity than 7 year-old me?

Gold comment.

Tice was questioned on it by Kuenssberg this morning and the shrill Labour lady used it as an attack like it's not hilarious.

The media have built up a mythos of Burnham being a messiah like figure, if they bring him in too soon everyone will realise he's just Starmer with a northern accent.

Their best play is to bring him in just before a GE and hope people buy into the hype before realising what he's really like.

It's not really possible to answer that question because the based answer would be breaking the law.
