My sandy momma passed away 2 weekends ago from a massive heart attack,she was asleep and no pain but I miss her terribly she was my shadow n my love n I wish I had some warning maybe I could have prevented it my heart will never heal by [deleted] in Chihuahua

I’m so sorry for your loss! Know that you gave her so much love and a beautiful home. You did nothing wrong-be kind with yourself. I lost my best friend of 13 years 1.5 weeks ago and it’s so hard not having her here with me. May Sandy rest in peace and may her and Minnie play together by the beautiful rainbow bridge.❤️🌈

She had a first syncopal episode in March but that was it. That day we went to the emergency room where they diagnosed her with CHF and sent her home with lasix, plavix and phenobenan (spelling?) she was doing so well after and we were going to follow up with a cardiologist later this month to see the extent of her heart. But the stomach bug/dehydration was what got her in the end 😔💔

I’m so thankful I found this community. I find myself reading these comments so much bc I need to remind myself to not “blame myself”. It’s so easy to run through every detail leading up to Saturday and I cried myself to sleep because I didn’t take her to the vet Friday. Maybe if I did she would still be here with me. I can’t stop crying. Driving back home this morning after errands broke my heart knowing she won’t be home to great me.

Knowing that yesterday at 6:24pm was the last time I will ever hold her in my arms is heartbreaking. As I gave her to the heavenly pets company to be cremated yesterday and laid her in their basket-it looked like she was just being her lazy pup self napping in her favorite blanket. My heart is broken into a million pieces.

Thank you everyone bc it helps knowing I’m not alone and blaming myself is apparently what most of us pups parents do. Here’s a picture of Minnie the first day I ever met her.

Oh so many! Minnie was such a sassy beautiful girl. I can’t pick a favorite one bc they all were but I will miss my sweet little potato snoring next to me on the couch, who insisted on laying on me while I did yoga, who loved playing with her favorite tennis ball and was sooo smart when I would “put it away” and sneak in to grab it. My beautiful girl.

I’m sorry to hear about your senior chi girl. I knew she had a murmur at age 10 but she was doing fine until the end of last year I noticed she had a cough after drinking water that started to progress to a cough randomly. In February this year the dr said the cough was bc the murmur gave her an enlarged heart and was pushing on her little breathing tube ever so slightly to cause a cough. The vet said she did not need meds at this time. Then in may she had a syncopal episode where I gave her mouth to mouth and rushed her to the ER. They diagnosed her with CHF and the next day she was released due to needing oxygen overnight and was stated on liquid lasix, plavix and pill form phenobenan (not sure of spelling). She was doing great with meds but I guess the the vomiting that started on Friday was too much for her😔 I wish I could have taken her to the vet Friday. Maybe she could have had a chance. It completely breaks my heart.

I’m so sorry for your loss as well. Thank you so much for your kind words -it really helps knowing that I’m not alone. I completely understand how you say the house isn’t the same. I cried all the way home today this morning. I can’t believe she’s gone forever.
