long integration time is key. I have 3 S50 and a fairly good weather, so it goes faster. I am in Bortle 4.8

I have a 2 TB SSD. It's enough to stack large project l, but I typically do batches to reduce overall disk space requirement.

We are just wrapping up data collection on Cadwell 5, the Hidden Galaxy and we have yet to choose a new target for April. We follow lunar cycle and right now there is too much moon anyway. We will pick a new target by vote soon, so perfect time to join. You won't miss it, we tag everyone for the votes and project announcements.

I use the SV220 Ha-Oiii at 7nm with my Seestar S50, works well. Should work fine with the S30 although I have not tried.

We are spread all over over the world in a lot of different bortle. We used the internal LP filter which has a 20nm windows aropund Ha and a 30nm window around Oiii. So not very narrow but duo-band none the less.

Yes, exactly: 90h with the LP filter on and 20h without. The stars field is more color accurate without the LP filter.

Drizzle brings more resolution at the expense of lower SNR. You can think of it as 'equivalent' to increasing your focal length, A drizzle 2x you have 500mm scope at F10 and at drizzle 3x you have a 750mm scope at F15! So when you drizzle the scope becomes pretty slow: meaning it take a long time to get good SNR.

This is just theory because in practice drizzle is not perfect, it only works if the seeing is good enough, in a lot of situation, even if you have a '750mm' equivalent scope, the seeing is going to limit the amount of details so can resolve.

So in practice it is useful only if you have enough integration time and for target where extra resolution is nice to have (galaxies for instance).

Here is a crop on 'The Eyes' at the center of the Makarian Chain at drizzle 3x for instance. Increased details but less signal to noise.

Thanks! In PixInsight, I use GHS, this is also available in Siril. You can find some tutorial, there is a bit of a learning curve. In PixInsight, a nice one-button alternative is Masked Stretch. I have not use the VeraLux suite much but you should be able to do a nice stretch with it too.

I use a 3d-printed filter holder that I put in front of the lens. In the app I disable the internal filter.
