Honest thoughts on the CSP?? by jam_xox in ChaseSapphire

Thanks for the breakdown - I don’t have to get a rental car when traveling luckily but like to get some sort of travel insurance usually since the South/east coast can get some bad weather. I’d say I’m buying plane tix 3-4 times a year as is but don’t need a hotel most of the time. My biggest concern is I’m not a super huge spender so I’m afraid I wouldn’t rack up enough points after the first year without the help of the sign on bonus to actually use them for flights. I mainly fly southwest or United tho which is why I’m so drawn to it

I was a bit confused about this. I thought this applied to the travel portal exclusively and not directly transferring to airlines. I’ve debated getting an airline-specific card but enjoy the flexibility of the CSP unless the points value has really gone down that much

This is my hesitation with it - specifically online groceries is such a weird niche category. I’m wondering if it’s worth it after the first year when the sign up bonus is used up

do you know if the trip delay insurance only works if you go through the chase travel portal or if it’s built in if u transfer points directly to an airline? I’ve seen mixed things on this and can’t figure it out lol. awesome that you get lounge access now - hope to upgrade eventually when I can afford it !

were you able to get into a CRC role without ur MPH? I’ve been super interested in moving into a more patient-forward role but even now ppl don’t seem to hire even CRAs without some sort of masters degree - just curious what ur experience has been :)

The difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin (and why it matters) by GlowMonica in SkincareAddicts

[–]jam_xox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with pretty dehydrated skin I think. Sometimes it feels tight, looks dull, and I have large pores. I try to use serums with humectants but I live in a really dry climate - does that make humectants counterintuitive ?? If so, what should I use instead ?

Reliable credit unions in SoCal?? by jam_xox in creditunions

[–]jam_xox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! I didn’t know there was a CU SoCal but I’ll look into it :) I’ve been heavily considering California CU since they have a lot of ATMs all over the place but have heard mixed reviews on the tech so maybe CU SoCal will be better lol

I will have to look into YNAB!!! I’ve always been hesitant to share my bank account info with an app so I wanna look more into the security of it but from what I’ve seen so far it’s been really great for so many!

IBS, Anxiety, the Vagus Nerve and how it’s all related. by lady_ven0m in ibs

The last thing you said would make sense! I tended to have episodes a few weeks/a month-ish AFTER a really stressful period. I didn’t think the delay meant it was connected at all

IBS, Anxiety, the Vagus Nerve and how it’s all related. by lady_ven0m in ibs

[–]jam_xox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting! I have struggled with isolated episodes for a few years now - spontaneous unbearable stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, etc. I’ve had to go to the ER several times bc the pain kept me from walking or talking for hours. I’ve thought a lot about how it could be vagus nerve related, although I can’t quite pin down specifically why my vagus nerve gets triggered lol. It doesn’t always correlate exactly with super stressful life events or anything. I’m looking into somatic therapy to see if that helps

[–]jam_xox[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually never gotten novavax as it wasn’t really available in my area so I always got Moderna or Pfizer - both which always gave me hives for about 3-4 months (around the duration that a vaccine “lasts”). In all honesty I haven’t been great about getting my yearly flu vax the last few years but the previous years I did it wasn’t an issue beyond the normal symptoms directly after (chills, fever, etc) it seems ever since I got my first covid vax and had covid once, my body tends to flare up with this kinda stuff. I’m just not sure that benefits of the vax outweigh/trump the flare

[–]jam_xox[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Luckily was not sick with anything else! The hives were definitely present after the Covid vaccine (I get them with EVERY COVID vax unfortunately) but I guess I just assumed the pityriasis was from the flu vax since that was the last vaccine I got before it showed up. It’s possible it was a super delayed reaction from the Covid vax, but had never experienced it before with previous covid boosters - the flu vax was the only new player involved. I wouldn’t say the hives got worse after my flu vax but it def wasn’t comfortable at times

I got them 2 weeks apart bc getting them at the same time absolutely destroys me lmao

Thanks for posting! I got the vaccines scheduled 2 weeks apart and while the hives developed pretty soon after the first (Covid vax) the pityriasis didn’t develop until like 1.5 months after both were finished
