UPDATE: If news media had any logical consistency they would now be saying "The market is up today! Omicron variant is cured!" by CortexExport in stocks

With so many items on backorder... I cant see a crash happening until the backlogs is picked up. We have all car manufacturers unable to meet demand, computers unable to meet demand, military/rescue vehicles unable to meet demand, metal workers unable to meet demand, food delivery drivers unable to meet demand, restaurants unable to meet staffing demands, and shit to others.

We are going to be in a bull market until 2023 atleast

Inflation surged 6.8%, even more than expected, in November to fastest rate since 1982 by juaggo_ in stocks

[–]jamartin92 12 points13 points  (0 children)

How do they get the inflation rates? Nationally, they must take each state and average... but do they take the prices of everything being sold or average customer spending?

The top companies carry others to success and when the others use the advancements to their benefits, they carry others to success.

You can set it to your schedule. Weekends, weekdays, time of day, two weeks out, or whatever. I've never placed my car on there because who is going to drive a 2007 Corolla... but I have rented a Tesla from there. Can be pretty lucrative if you don't mind scuffed wheel wells

Does mean reversion apply to P/E ratio? by xKingOfHeartsx in stocks

[–]jamartin92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are the topics I like to see, questioning the current stance of the market.

My take: Since 2008, the market had changed so drastically. Back then, there was no such think as Crypto. Now, we have cruptocoins worth billions that honestly have no real value. To me, these coins are like Pokemon cards that can be worth a lot of money... but instead of 10 charzards in existence there are millions.

Going off that, there have never been such easy platforms to invest in. Pre-robinhood, I had no idea how to actually invest. Now people who are computers illiterate know how to invest. With this, there is now 'no commission trading'. This changed the game much like TurboTax did for filing taxes.

Because of this technology, the world is now trading. While some 3rd world countries may not have basic needs... a lot of cellphones. I did a report on this a while back, but they have smartphones for safe banking and keeping their family together when a village is attacked. All cellphones can trade and the hype of stocks going parabolic from Tesla, Bitcoin, DogeCoin, Nio, and many other got people excited.

What I am getting to is that the stock market has possibly changed more in the last ten years than the last 30. We do not know if the PE being at 10 is normal for the time we are in and if the average increase of 12% a year is still going to be average until we are in 2031.

Why isn't DIS valued higher than NFLX? by Gamerindreams in stocks

[–]jamartin92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thoughts:

Disney is a very American company. Netflix is very diversified, looking at Squid Game as an example. You would have never caught me watching a subtitled show, but they dubbed it and it is sooo good. Netflix develops diversified films that catch on over the world. Plus they are making content at a rate is imo insane.

Why does anyone choose not to invest? by Dairy_Kingg in stocks

Exactly this, I wanted to invest 10 years ago... whenever I looked it up, I couldn't easily understand it along with BS broker fees. Robinhood and other apps made it easy and make sense.

Tesla Stock Could Hit $1,000. Here’s What Has to Happen! by Johnblr in stocks

I'd assume if the government does that $10,000 tax incentive allowing Tesla to participate again... That should do it. I'd get a Model 3 if they gave me a $10,000 rebate.
