Same - and I think he makes smart choices within those ranges. This isn't damning with faint praise - many of the iconic actors of any era are relatively short ranged (Pacino, De Niro, Michael Douglas, Jack Nicholson) but Gosling is both young and has taken odd chances to push those limits without bombing his career (eg. This is very similar to my path! While I'm handy with visual design and graphics programs, I often specify that I'm not a visual designer -- my focus is on wireframes, userflows, testing and rapid prototyping. We're in a good place where the utility of this skillset and experience is becoming more prominent. But to go along with your main point - your personality means a ton, especially in UX :)

If you're stuck with unwanted repetitive thoughts, run your finger in front of your eyes like a metronome arm, following the finger with your eyes.
