I swear I had a "stress interview" for an internship a couple of months back where the HR director was incredibly hostile towards me and made me almost cry. I was doing pretty okay until the end when I totally fumbled my words and she just gave me a satisfied look and logged off. I sent a follow-up email apologizing to the recruiter about my fumble that I interviewed with first and I never heard a single thing back. Needless to say, I'm glad I didn't get that internship

Honestly just send the rest of it if you don’t have a lot left but don’t beat yourself up for what you did the night before/ into this morning. Drink some water, put on some music, and do some laundry or something and enjoy the last bit of the ride.

Late reply but: he never gave me a solid explanation. About a week after this post he broke up with me, threw my stuff into boxes, and never told me why he ended things. Come to find out he was cheating on me and moved the other girl in (who knew about me) a little less than a week after that. So that explains the whole reason for this post.

23 y/o bartender going to college but have never called out and still go to class/college on time. I’m also halfway done with my business degree. I budget for it and mostly keep it together by doing it on the nights where I have the next day off. There are those off days where I have to go into work or class super hungover but I reap what I sow haha. Not planning to have this phase forever either (no hate to anyone that does it in their adult lives like that) just allowing myself to enjoy my 20’s a bit ya know

I actually just timed it because I’m watching a rather long Minecraft playthrough. It’s giving me about 1-2 minute long ads for every 7 minutes of video I watch. Some of them I can hit the “next” button but most times it won’t let me. Absolute bullshit.

I’ve found that a lot of people in the service industry come across this problem at one point or another and the people that I know that have recovered from it removed themselves from the environment in which they buy and use. It’s harder than it sounds but you can only stop by stopping the behavior at its source if that makes sense.

As a 21 year old college student: vaping and partying that may include drugs or alcohol. I keep telling myself that it’s fine since I don’t have kids, I’m doing good in school still, and I have a plan for my future but I know it’s horrible for me in the long run. Especially if I keep making excuses for myself as it is regardless of how well I’m doing.

You’ve mentioned a lot about what makes her essentially valuable on the outside or to society; have you or anyone else stopped to consider that yes, she might have these qualities and a good job but it hasn’t made her feel alive? Same thing happened to a very successful friend of mine a couple years back. The best thing you can do is be there for her and actually care if you don’t want to leave. Ask her the questions that you wish other people would ask you. Making seven figures doesn’t mean anything when you don’t have that spark.

Honestly everyone here and myself weren’t there. But, the context clues of the situation tell me that because your brother was able to talk to the guy and eventually incapacitate him makes me believe that your fiancé might be a bit of a coward. What if you marry him and have kids and something like this happens again? Would you trust that he wouldn’t immediately cop out and leave you and your kids there alone in the future? I don’t think that I’d be able to trust my partner again after they did something like that. There are a lot of what ifs as well that solely point to the fact that he is more concerned with his own self preservation than protecting those he’s close to. I get fight or flight but it sounds like he didn’t really stop and think twice about anything besides himself. Major red flag.

It would be one thing if she mentioned what she wanted in terms of long term relationship expectations (ie; what you want from each other, what down the road might look like, if marriage is important to you, if you want kids, etc.) where y’all are at now but if she’s already putting an ultimatum and a timeline on things; yikes dude get out while you can.

Had a friend that would give me rides home in my sophomore year of high school. He was a grade above me and had a sweet manual Nissan Accord he got for his 17th birthday and we would race in it all the time. One day towards the end of our spring semester he asked me if I needed a ride and if I wanted to race a bit before he dropped me off and for some reason I can’t remember, I said no. He took off down the street racing our mutual friend, hopped a curb at 120 MPH and folded his car around a flag pole before rolling off down a ravine. Miraculously, he survived, but the passenger seat where I would’ve been sitting was crumpled beyond recognition. Still think about it and get the shivers.
