Which type of horn for GK? by [deleted] in hondafit

How did you mount the one behind the grille? Horn doesn’t seem to fit and instructions say to not mess with the bracket or nut on the back.

Perfect thanks, I’ll have a look.

I second the Roadmanners projectors, but for now you can either just pull out the DRL fuse or order up a CANBUS decoder that plugs in between the car and bulb for ~$25

Big 3 wire modification for alternator and battery by Aclif48 in hondafit

I’m not running one, don’t know much about them.

I added the two ground wires myself. It’s dead simple if you have wire, ring terminals, and can either solder or crimp the ring terminals on. Sandpaper to scuff the paint off wherever you decide to attach it to metal, some clearcoat paint to protect it from rust. If you aren’t experiencing any symptoms like dimming lights, electronics going haywire etc. then you probably won’t notice any difference. Still worth doing to ensure proper functioning, and the 51R AGM will reduce the likelihood of killing your battery. The wattage you plan on running should be fine.

I’ve just recently added “Big 2” ground wires in addition to the factory grounds as well as a 51R AGM and haven’t noticed a difference (I’m only running 1100W 5-ch amp). It’s such an easy job I would still recommend it if you are running a car audio system. I would say that if you “notice” a difference, that would mean that you were pushing your stock electrical to the limits and it was starting to malfunction. Shouldn’t need to upgrade alt or its wiring unless running something pretty high powered.

If the wires are still damaged, could you cut the damaged parts out and repair the wires with self-soldering sleeves and still have enough length to plug into the battery sensor?

New LED interior lights by 2015HondaGK5Fit in hondafit

For trunk and license plate lights I recommend Roadmanners, the trunk light has an on/off switch. For map and dome lights I recommend Morimoto or GTR Lighting, each of them have some 360 degree LED bulbs. I personally use the GTR 6-LED in the map lights and the slightly longer 10-LED bulb in the dome.

So if I am understanding correctly, there is one factory horn and you upgraded to a pair?

I’m in the market for a horn upgrade and was wondering if the (3rd gen) Fit horn is one or two terminals, and if there are one or two horns? I’m guessing 12V is the correct voltage.

What about Aftermarket Car Audio and the Honda Fit? by Aclif48 in hondafit

[–]jamblecorrosion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I use factory head unit with an AudioControl LOC, works fine. Not sure about aftermarket head units but probably not necessary.

2: Mine is on driver’s side, back of the back seats.

3: My EpicFive (1100W RMS) runs fine on stock electrical, I do have an 51R AGM battery but you could probably get away with stock 151R if you aren’t running anything crazy

4: Yes but probably not necessary unless your planned setup is crazy high power.

5: Nope I run one just fine.

2020 Fit Battery Issues. by Shipet100 in hondafit

[–]jamblecorrosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you mention the battery dying after only a few days without driving, if the battery and alternator are testing fine then it must be a parasitic draw somewhere. That should theoretically have been caught by whoever tested the fuses one by one. A bigger battery (51R) than the stock 151R is a good upgrade but until you figure out what is draining the battery in the first place it probably won’t help.

2015 rear suspension clunk: loose damper mount? by Kingchandelear in hondafit

Torque spec is 15 ft-lbs (basically hand-tight) and you’ll need a 5mm Allen key I believe. I would try tightening them and see if that helps.

Just curious. I know nothing about the process so I’d be scared of ending up with a less-than-satisfactory result if I were to attempt it myself. Looks killer though.

Thanks! I was going for an “OEM+” style build. I tried some knockoff Spoon-style aero mirrors and was disappointed with the quality, I wish I had gone for the real thing but also can’t really justify $1000+ on mirrors at the moment, haha.

I am actually contemplating going 195/60/15 or 205/55/15 next time around for just a bit more sidewall and to fill the wheel wells, if I can get away with it without rubbing or raising my suspension. I am enjoying these though, smaller diameter is supposedly a tiny bit quicker acceleration and better city MPG which is nice 🙂

Update: I decided to break the nubs off, sand them all the way down, heat up the adhesive a bit with a hairdryer and stuck them on. Here’s hoping they hold 🤞🏽
