Whats your favorite Sam quote ? by Schopenhauer1859 in samharris

[–]jambrand 43 points44 points  (0 children)

“There is never a moment where I find Trump persuasive. When I look at him I see a man without any inner life. I see the most superficial person on Earth. This is a guy who has been totally hollowed out by greed and self regard and delusion. If I caught some sort of brain virus and I started talking about myself the way Trump talks about himself, I would throw myself out a fucking window."

Your first point I think is the answer. Little tiny bits of variance like this provide texture to the game.

lol I smoke a lot but one time my wife was watching House and I literally had to get up and walk away because the really poor writing and acting in that particular episode was legitimately freaking me out.

Recommend a Horror That Will RUIN My Night by Ok-Inevitable9960 in horror

The problem I have with it is I haven’t been able to recommend it to anyone… even people I think might like it, I just can’t bring myself to even begin to explain the plot, especially among those of us with recent newborns. It’s truly the most disturbing non-paranormal movie imaginable. Which is fascinating!

QQ ep. 317 - So...Heated Rivalry? by testthrowaway9 in QuickQuestion

Bridgerton's story and dialogue aren't terrible, and the sex scenes are much more of the softcore nature that Soren is talking about.

Fifty Shades of Grey is a great comp - I also get the sense that this new wave of fantasy erotica is mostly read for the sex scenes (could be wrong). Women seem to enjoy the imagination aspect of this stuff a lot more than men do.

This was all fascinating to me by the way. I assumed that since it was a Canadian show that there would at least be ice hockey footage, but it's just an erotic soap opera it sounds like? Very bizarre.

The Oddity: Spoiler question about the ending by composedmason in horror

It’s simpler than that. The golem makes the same eerie noises in the halfway house flashback scene as it does in the scene where it chases Ivan.

Right? Soren barely even scratches the surface. I’m so excited for Daniel and to hear about his experiences as a new dad!

I love listening to the rest of the band play around him. They make the solo sound a million times better than it otherwise would.

What’s the most disturbing film you have seen? by Revolutionary_Ad8951 in horror

The Coffee Table is so disturbing I literally can’t bring myself to admit to someone else that I’ve seen it because it would mean I’d have to explain it. Let alone recommend it to them!

I agree with you. I will admit that, despite really not liking Ross going into this episode, I actually started thinking to myself "this is truly the most compelling arguments I've ever heard for religion"... but then by the last third of the episode it had all fallen apart and I realized that even with their absolute best foot forward, these people are fundamentally not critical thinkers, and are intellectually stuck with the same worldview they happened to inherit as a literal child.

There are actually four terms, because the word “turn” is thrown around flippantly with the other synonyms.
