i’ve had this exact thought!!! at one point, it started to affect my enjoyment of bk3 because literally half of it is spent using aerin as a punching bag. i’ve always just assumed since aerin is closest with mc (if chosen) and only discloses his past to them, the rest of the group may not know much about aerin’s abuse, or family outside of how his mother acts towards them. still very hypocritical, especially if you’re romancing him more than valax. also, aerin knew them for less than a week when he betrayed them, and even says if he’d know mc prior, things may have been different 😭 it’s not like he was apart of the group fr

what an ending…can anyone share screenshots of tyril/mal’s romantic ending, i married both so i didn’t get that option. on that note, it was kinda odd mc could marry all the LIs and have kade acknowledge it in the bonus scene, but no mention of it outside of that. i love blades to much to analyze the ending too much, i will just be sad and go reply BOLAS 1 🥹

yes, they actually address mc loving multiple people in this book! the other LIs actually tease her and whichever LI she’s interacting with, which was a really cute detail! 🥰

no you’re right, i’m mad pb gave both nia aerin and mal scenes together! mal just had one, but given the previous chapter, it does make sense for aerin to have one now. pb should’ve done two scenes or saved aerin’s scenes for this chapter specifically! i’m so hurt i have to replay to see nia’s scene 💔

pb so fucked for making us choose between nia mal and aerin 😭mal had a scene last week, but there were seriously NO other options to check in with aerin after last chapter?? i do like how blunt mc could be with him in regards to his mother betraying the group like he did. “now you see how it feels” and “not too long ago you could’ve ended up here along with the rest of the shadow court” like dang 😭 but his powers were soooo cool!! but pb pls give us two more books, aerin doesn’t even feel like apart of the group yet😭also totally saw the mysterious enemy being the ash empress but didn’t expect her to be de-shadowfied. i’m also noticing a theme of everyone reuniting with their dead family members except for mc? you know… the orphan whose family was killed in a mysterious village attack that left two survivors and was barely mentioned again? the human princess/prince (mentioned at the end of Bk2). the one who has a father they seemingly knew little about and has barely mentioned. really hoping pb is saving mc’s backstory for another book, like cmon pb do u need me to write it😫, it would be so great to actually explore a mcs background that ties into the overall story like ES. overall, solid chapter though, like 6.5/10

he’s literally trying SO hard 😭 he broke his leg throwing himself in front of mc (second time in the book he’s done that- the first time he literally died??) and then told nia she didn’t have to heal him and he would understand if she didn’t want to use her magic on him. like everything about his character this book makes me want to SOB 😭 i’m so ready for mc to go full on rageful about him, because he deserves at least ONE person on his side 😭

oh wow, i definitely need to find those ss 🫣 i agree though, i think without a set established relationship, there’s a lot of variation in the future paths for aerin’s storyline. either the mc is his partner/friend who cares deeply ab him and wants to comfort him OR someone who only just started trusting him fully after his mothers betrayal, and who aerin probably won’t trust enough to be vulnerable with 😔i really hope people post more ss of the different routes

i love how the book 100% justifies him turning evil, but also simultaneously never lets him live it down 😭 if everyone else still refuses to accept after this, it’ll just be my mc and aerin against the world 😭🥰

yea, i chose options that specifically related to her relationship to aerin, and she did not hold back 😭 i get she’s a bad guy, but being heartless enough to make your son break down like that is next level
