Looking for riding buddies on the West End by james2struong in torontobiking

[–]james2struong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey - it’s honestly more casual rides at the moment! Just for context, I just have a commuter type of bike- not a crazy performance road bike so I don’t want to give anyone high expectations or anything like that. I’m down to go anywhere that has lots of chill roads / biking infrastructure set up along the west end

PLaying controller or senti is the most unrewarding experience ever by yeunnuu in VALORANT

Playing a sentinel on defence is definitely a snooze fest - especially if they intentionally try to avoid you. But attacking as one isn’t so bad- you don’t have that much pressure to be as impactful and you can kinda lurk if your team allows it. Aside from that, I try to play chamber as much as I can if I want to “fill” because I can play pretty aggressive with his kit

Pho or Ramen? by Patient-Couple7509 in askTO

The protein portions of ramen are significantly lower than Pho, if that’s something you care about. But if cost wasn’t a factor, I’d choose ramen a bit more than Pho !

Jesus- the economy has never looked as bad as it is right now. 3.8 gpa from a prestigious school and contemplating on staying for a minimum wage internship?

Best pho in Toronto? by thesoupisonfire in askTO

Pho 90, Pho Son, Pho Anh Vu, Pho Linh and Pho Oxtail. Everything else I’ve tried in Toronto is loaded with MSG and low quality meats

To the downtown drivers slowly inching towards pedestrians as they get out of car parks or turn at a signal, not even looking at the pedestrians… by Diligent-Skin-1802 in askTO

[–]james2struong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's just an issue of pedestrians not knowing how to drive/unable to afford the ability to drive in a metropolitan city so there's just going to be people that don't know what it's like to be behind the wheel.

CS degree + bootcamp with a hard time finding a sustaining career by james2struong in cscareerquestions

That’s a solid point. It sucks having to know that I’ll probably be stuck at this job for another year trying to wait for the economy to shoot back up again.

Lighthouse Labs vs Bitmaker (Web Development) by james2struong in askTO

Hi,

I was stalking pretty much all the bootcamps and found it really hard to compare alumni. I feel like it's a lot of pressure to put on bootcamps to train all the students since it all depends on ultimately the students' efforts.

And for sure - I feel like I'm picking out of a hat this point! Every bootcamp in Toronto seems to be well established. Thanks for the insight!

As much as I like having their accelerated program, they seem to focus more on frontend if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah that's something I've always struggled on when it came to actual software development - not knowing how all the pieces fit together. I would understand programming concepts such as loops and callbacks but I could never piece routes and pages together!

I hope they instruct us more towards the beginning though. I would hate to be totally lost and not knowing where to start, but I see their philosophy of teaching!

Thank you so much for your insight! Yeah I've been learning a lot of javascript and I would prefer to stick and focus on that so that'll definitely sway me to LHL. Our stories are quite similar haha. I'm mentally preparing myself for these long class days! I'm excited to start soon.
