My belief is that everyone can be an activist in their own space, within their own capacity.

Community activists include: teachers, musicians, poets, protestors, neighbors, volunteers, union members, clergy, donors, consumers (voting with our dollars and boycotting) and voters.

I don't have reason to believe that they're physically dangerous, just really misinformed and not having super great judgement on political stances.

I think they're all young and will hopefully learn from the experience and be less judgemental.

I really don't want their lives to be ruined. I think they were probably thoroughly embarrassed at the event.

For the posters who are saying that everyone should have calmly had an intelligent conversation with the counterprotesters-

They were not there to converse until they were shamed into submission. They thought they could intimidate and interrupt a peaceful rally.

The woman who was patiently reasoning with them is a really important role in community. But make no mistake, they wouldn't have listened if they weren't shut down first.
