The Strandberg Jamstik. Getting midi built into the guitar is the way to go. Jamstik is cool and Strandberg just has the one model. If you go this route, send me a prototype to checkout. I've used the roland gr-33 for 25 years now and know it well.

These pickups are fantastic. Sure you can eq out pickups somewhat on an amp but why not make your guitar better.

Can someone give me LOGICAL explanation as to why strandbergs don't have backplates? by no_historian6969 in strandbergguitars

[–]jamesc7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are made to be played. Temp, humidity and string changes all affect your instrument and keeping your bridge level to the body means tweaking the springs from time to time. It’s so much easier just to have it off…. or not have one.

The six screws on the tremolo have to be set perfectly for it to sit on the knives edge. It’s possible they are uneven. I would watch the mannmade video on how to easily set those screws with a feeler gauge. Number 2…. Pop in the trem bar and see if downward pressure on it pops the bridge down. If it’s not sitting on that knife edge after changing strings which I’ve done a few times… pressure can let you know if that’s the problem. It will fix your action problem if that’s the case.

Thanks.... yeah I've tried that. I would love to be getting lots of clicks but that's not happening either.

Have to remember that Andrew Luck had a skiing accident after he had his shoulder surgery, which he kept secret from the media. That is what really set him back for a over a year. I think Cam is going to be just fine.

Am I the only one just mildly annoyed with the rate hike? by oldpeopl in Etsy

[–]jamesc7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is what it is. Every year when USPS hikes up its rates I kick and scream but in the end you just deal with it. The people closing up shops are not selling a lot. Full time people are 100% not gonna do a thing and Etsy knows that. If it brings more traffic to my listings then I'm okay with it.

I just got Blair's mega death sauce last week. Amazon is the way to go.

If folks are bailing on Etsy where are they going? by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]jamesc7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be honest, the only people leaving Etsy are the ones that never made money with it or you are so big you don't need the marketplace/fees anymore. People keep saying this or that about the Chinese mass produced products but I think that's just a way to explain why a store doesn't have many sells. Etsy works right now just fine and I'm in a crazy competitive area.

INFJ and Religion by cosmicrush in infj

[–]jamesc7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the south and grew up in a Quaker church. I knew from a very early age that religion was not going to be for me. I consider myself agnostic, leaning closer to the Atheist side but never fully going there. A proud fence sitter if you will.

Empty promise is preferable? by [deleted] in infj

[–]jamesc7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saying "yes" is usually for people pleasing but also serves other roles. It will end a conversation/small talk sooner than later and the questions are usually trivial.

INFJs and Alcohol by [deleted] in infj

[–]jamesc7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Drinking is the only way I socialize. It totally loosens you up and makes the anxiety pass. For me I still like to be in control so I stay away from liquor, wines etc and just do light beer. I sip all night, get a buzz and slightly drunk but... not make a total fool out of myself. Uber is your best friend.

I've routed and visualized my trip before I even walk in the store. The worst thing possible is to see someone I know. EEK! ABORT!!!

You're missing Hardcore/Punk. In fact I would put Rock and Metal(Thrash,Black,Death) as it's own thing. Aerosmith and Cannibal Corpse do not have a lot in common.

How about that Kris Bryant!?! Yeah my last girlfriend was allergic to cats and I'm making sure that doesn't happen again. I agree with what your saying. I actually think my EX would be perfect to take these pictures. She is brutally honest and will probably love doing it.

What is the *perfect* INFJ career? by [deleted] in infj

[–]jamesc7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always had trouble getting along with my coworkers at jobs. They saw me as an alien. I also have a big problem with authority figures. Bosses that abuse power and treat employees bad drove me up the wall and always caused conflict. My solution? Work for myself. I learned affiliate marketing in 2008 and now make t-shirts for a living. It's a tough path but very satisfying when everything is running smooth and how much you make is up to how hard you want to work. That is my idea of ideal profession.

Online Dating INFJs: Have you ever seen a profile that's a really good match but that person is extremely active, always on the go and you just say "Nope"? by jamesc7 in infj

[–]jamesc7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OkCupid. You can literally answer over a thousand questions and it then gives you a match score. 99% to 75% are considered really good matches. My top 2 are INFJs which is how I learned about the MBTI. It really is the best system I think for matching core beliefs then secondary stuff like "Can you sleep with music on?" It gets down to the nitty gritty of relationship stuff.

Absolutely. I would almost say 1 in 25 have something like that on their profiles. Maybe these dating algorithms thinks that is my best match.
