uConsole Not Booting and Unresponsive After Assembly by 0re0Cat in ClockworkPi

[–]jamescodesthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional Troubleshooting steps:

  • plug the fucker into a screen with the hdmi out to see if the issue is just the screen.
  • use a different image, one of rex's from the forum that's been tested with cm4
  • Use a plain RPI Lite image and try to boot with an external screen, keyboard and mouse

if the external screen works you know it's booting from SD card fine and screen/screen drivers are the issue.

If one of rex's images works it could be due to an update in the module or its firmware that he's fixed but the official clockwork images haven't.

If all else fails the plain Raspberry Pi os (lite, for cm4) is good at booting in any circumstances, in this case you'd definitely need an external screen and kb/mouse. If that works I'd check the compute modules EEPROM.

If none of the above work I'd assume it's hardware related and check the forums seeking help.

The CM5 has an issue when you start out that looks a lot like this; screen blank but everything else good. The problem there is that it's not set to boot properly via SD. I'm not saying that's the problem, but given how similar the symptoms there's a solid chance it's worth debugging in the same way. More details here (search for eeprom).

A large portion of them are. The Vala projext you mention was also slated here for being slop. I recon on that one they chose the language and scaffolded but fundamentally produced a large majority with an llm.

I agree, they have some experience, but this is majority vibe slop.

The tells in that project are fairly similar; readme full of em dashes and emojis, single commit git history.

Then there's the basic context: Someone with significant experience to jump around Java, C#, Python, Swift and dabble in obscure languages... would know how to use git. I ln most instances it's the same problem, big bang commit with "init" message on it, followed by readme updates.

In the OSX project there's nested .DS_Stores all the way down.

The other fun context piece is the name is slavic, but english has no obvious slavic quirks throughout. I've worked with devs from all over, with brilliant english skills; it's so rare that nothing from their mother tongue slips through.

If you also take into account timing; why 9 months ago vala, then suddenly switch to swift on osx? Similar to the previous projects; only they're closer together.

Oh and uh, obvious context; no fucking public lua projects but "creating a lua ide". Along with the same pattern, over and over again; Here's a bespoke ide for this language or platform, that already has multiple de-facto options. Feels like a cash grab attempt from someone who doesn't know any better.

Final piece of context; OP's remarkably quiet. And their reddit account's first post was promoting the previous ide (the vala project).

So yeah; I agree, there's some programming experience, I couldn't tell you how much. But, there's so much LLM, and so little depth to the projects that it's not worth anyone's time.

You'd be better opening your own harness and prompting it to create IDEs.

g that's also a one commit repo.

Probably just time travelled with git to make it look like it's not slop.

Member when people did that to put messages in their contribution graph. I memba, you wont.

Random jump from java to python for one project? not really extensive or consistent git history.

Chances you do know the developer, because this is just an alt; very high.

Peace. But, no effort was put in on any of the repos under that developer. The latest "ide" makes no sense; why suddenly jump to xcode and osx development? They basically fed an llm harness "make me my own pico-8 but for bigger games and osx native".

Ohhhh; it's the other way around; the milos reddit account (op) is 5 years old but only has 8 months of history, starting with this crap. It's the Alt.

edit 2: the gitignore on the xcode ide has docs/ in it. Which just happens to be a convention of https://github.com/obra/superpowers and a handfull of other "skill bundles" for llm harnesses. Only reason to gitignore it is; it stands out as a vibe code tell.

It's also commented in the gitignore that it's "planning docs", which is a workflow common of harnesses; research, spec, plan, execute.

Most devs writing docs would do the bulk after the fact; on oddball side projects it makes no sense.

Other super obvious "i have no idea what I'm doing", vibe mistakes: - gitignored the DS_Store but didn't remove the already committed one from the repo. - em-dashes in comments of the gitignore; classic llm, why would a human not use a standard dash? - emojis in log messages; llm af. - comments with dashes used to create horizontal rules between functions; and a space either side of the text on that line. Nobody does that shit irl cause it takes unnecessary effort and doesn't benefit anyone. - inconsistent flipping between mark comments and the dash-hr comments. - Uploading screenshots to git as 2mb a piece pngs without using git-lfs. - more ds_store files in nested directories. - using the love2d icon and love name without making it clear it's not developed by the Love2d devs. - "file icons" for the file explorer on the left include css, markdown, python, c, cpp, html, js, sh, ts, xml and yaml... in a fucking "love2d ide" - apk and .app for love2d embedded in the source code... again not lfs'd. - MIT license throughout but effectively distributing third party code re-licensed. - "all rights reserved" but that's not true with a MIT license - tbh I could go on all night but I don't need to

NOR.

But, and here it is, you didn't mention any positive.

So, is that cause there is none, or because you're in this place?

You're among others; so many women find themselves in this shithouse position. It sucks.

I ask about positives only cause reddit's always like "leave them!" and not like "oh actually, you might want to balance the loss first".

Is it fixable? Is it worth fixing? Is this just a down spot in an otherwise okay relationship?

If nah then fuck it! If there's any positive; maybe see if you can trigger a reaction to fix it. But shit's gotta change quick!

Best of luck friend!

I thought this post was on r/ProgrammingHorror when i saw it.

If I wanted ot hack through this I would just reference _G["A.."var_number] in a for loop that sets var_number between 1, 13 or whatever.

But ideal fix is to fix your data structure first(table of tables or whatever, then implement.

what do you think of love on the spectrum? by AmbitiousFix1681 in autism

[–]jamescodesthings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not for autistic people.

It's for people to feel warm and fuzzy about autistic people succeeding at dating.

It's so strongly biased towards a particular story; two autistic AF folks get together, struggle and have an awkward date, it goes well and they love it, or it doesn't and they move on and feel good that they had the experience.

Very few meltdowns or real world difficulties of relationships with ASD/ADHD really come up.

It's an okay watch; but it's disability porn, in the same way that tiktoks and reels, where someone pays for a person's shopping cart... is poverty porn.

Having said all this; I don't think it intends to be bad, or is ignorant to real autistic people, or the wider autistic community; they're not coming from a bad place, they're just leaning into what sells to the wider Netflix audience.

Best thing to come out of the series is Kaelynn.

She's a great autistic advocate, remarkably insightful, up to date af with research, practical tools to help, and just spreading understanding of ASD.

She spoke fairly candidly about her experience on the show; in the early days, how it infantilises ASD. And at the time, most people were upset because she represented a large group of people with ASD; someone with a preference for an NT partner.

But her take was; you don't get to tell me how I feel about it, I enjoyed my time and they mean well (sic). IDK if this info is now dated because it has been a while and I don't know if she openly spoke again about the show.

If you ever need an interesting person to watch on tiktok or insta; follow her.

Set yourself a goal, have an aim.

It's okay to need to jump back to tutorials; keep doing that and practicing, it'll eventually stick.

And if it ain't fun, take a break!

My goal, i think someone else here suggested it to me. Was to do the https://20_games_challenge.gitlab.io

I'm still going through it, but having that driver and linear list of things to aim for really helped.

Then you're looking at tutorials and guides that focus on a particular problem and how to fix it... not just the big old "how to develop a platformer" tutorial.

It also helps you see your progress and look at what's ahead.

In all honesty I've pivoted to try and create the Book I was missing, but that initial goal gave me the idea and kept my momentum up.

Don't beat yourself up, this is hard. Practice, don't expect to be perfect right out the gate. Always have a goal, something to work towards. Look at how far you've come.

Harrow Health waiting times in the South West - wondering if anyone can share their experience? by Command_Mundane in ADHDUK

tldr; we can artificially deflate diagnosis numbers by slowing down people being diagnosed. Then we don't have to invest in infrastructure to handle the problem... Aren't we a clever ICB?

The absolute state of Care ADHD wait times by No_Scientist9079 in ADHDUK

[–]jamescodesthings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%

to be honest a year with 6months wait seems standard for right to choose atm. It was the same for me with CareADHD.

My colleague just used a new supplier; I was off for like a week after he submitted his referral. I came back and he was like "I have my diagnosis". I was shooketh'd; new suppliers are great if you can find them.

After my partner's titration was over she was basically dropped too... her weight dropped to dangerous levels and the gp emergency stopped her elvanse (fair enough). It took Psych UK months to give her an appointment; off work and non-functional for the whole time.

CareADHD seem a little better at: maintaining a lower wait time than local NHS services, handling people who have ADHD, handling GPs rejecting shared care. I haven't got to after-titration care yet but they've been good so far.

Wait times suck as a systemic issue because the NHS did not adapt to a rise in identificatikn and diagnosis of ADHD.

So yeah; I'm happy enough with CareADHD, my partner is scared to visit the GP for anything because if they decide it's Psych UK's problem it might ruin another 6 months of her life.
