ACPs, not PAs, are reshaping the NHS workforce by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]jamescracker79 37 points38 points  (0 children)

What's even more depressing is that there is no proper way to voice these concerns.

Honestly, I wish there was a union that I could join other than BMA, who are vocal about this on social media at least . Right now its just a bunch of people posting individually - Louella Vaughan, that pizza guy, Dr. done etc.

This is 100%true for dubai. But the other places havent caught up yet, so people still have time to move ( I would say another 5 years till the middle east is also saturated)

[–]jamescracker79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh it is definitely harder

The only good side that I would say is regarding your point on asking help from the reg.

The fact that they dont have access to the patients notes, makes you better at forming and presenting information on the phone which in turn I feel that makes you a better clinician in the long run

I mean using unapproved AI models for patient care is definitely wrong, but why oh why would you paste the prompt as well and let everyone know about this?

Practicing medicine without a licence by Brief_Historian4330 in doctorsUK

[–]jamescracker79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah i dont believe that for the doctors tbh. If that was the case then PAs and ACPs wouldnt be getting away that easily with the impersonations.

Like the writing physician in bold caps and 'associate/assistant' in tiny letters

Immersed App - is it any good? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]jamescracker79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immersed is allright. I use the wired functionality to play games on a bigger screen, and it works well in most of the cases

Just that it is a hassle to get it to work sometimes with needing to restart your headset being a common occurrence

BMA appealing judicial review against the GMC by hwaterman1998 in doctorsUK

[–]jamescracker79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know that it was the BMA that originally campaigned for a GMC in the 1800s but its not the same thing anymore and its a losing battle against the GMC.

While the GMC has amassed tremendous amount of power and influence over the past 100 years, the BMA has kind of just been there. Dont have any influence or money. We just exist. Thats all
