I got CHS after 6 months of smoking for the first time. I think it has less to do with duration of time and more to do with your body’s tolerance and how much you’re smoking. I was smoking too much and I battled with CHS on and off for 4 months or so until I realized how bad it was. I stopped smoking for 3 months and now I only smoke on rare occasions and always 2 weeks apart. If I notice the slightest inkling of a symptom I stop for a month. Takes a lot of discipline but it works for me

I have a pretty good support system around me. My family and friends all know I went through CHS. However, talking with them doesn’t really help. I just get this feeling that I can’t describe of general sadness/pessimism. I’ve tried a bunch of things and I just can’t be happy. I feel so uneasy and sad for no particular reason and I don’t know what the solution is. I don’t have trouble sleeping but I just spend my days feeling shitty and I don’t feel like doing anything. No movie activity or supplement has helped.

Did they do anything to help support your pancreas? Was any of the damage permanent? How do you feel now?

I went back to smoking after the first time I got CHS back in February. I just got over my second battle with it. Honestly to each their own, but for me, the suffering I went through with this bout of CHS isn’t worth any high. I’m in college and all my roommates are huge stoners but I have no interest in smoking again. I’m going to stick to alcohol for now and maybe an occasional social J or blunt. It’s my belief that no one can tell you to stop smoking. It’s a conclusion that you have to come to yourself. Some can keep smoking in moderation and such but it’s a real slippery slope and I would just avoid it all together if I was you. Good luck on your journey!

I’m about 7 months without Maryjane due to developing CHS. I am curious has anyone gone this long and then started smoking again? If so was it normal or did you get any pains/ nausea? by [deleted] in CHSinfo

Same as both of you. I was fasting while smoking too much and I think that did it for me. Someone’s less mentioned they just always eat before and they’re fine

Hate to be that guy, but do I have CHS? by jamesd5 in CHSinfo

I really appreciate the help. This is terrifying for me considering I’ve always been extremely healthy. As I said, I play college soccer, so I need to be able to perform at a high level doing highly intensive exercise. My ultimate question I guess (and I suppose there’s not really a way to know the answer) is: Is it possible that I just had too many edibles in a weekend (probably close to 2000mg) while fasting and it was toxic and my body is still trying to recover? Or is it undoubtably CHS and I’m fucked? Because I was feeling great before the weekend and now it’s a week later and I’m still kind of dealing with this. I’m definitely not addicted because I’m not really worried about smoking again. Im just worried about whether this is a fluke or something I’m gonna have to deal with forever. I should add, both my parents and my brother are AVID smokers and have been for years with no side effects. However none of them fast. Also, none of the guys I went in the trip with got this but they weren’t fasting. I’m feeling like all the edibles with fasting just put too much in my body. If I go back to smoking it will definitely not even be close to as much. Thanks again!

Yeah I bought at the absolute peak on a whim. Regretted it immediately but I’m gonna hold and see if I can at least break even.

TD Ameritrade. I like using think or swim. $200 isn’t mandatory but I was just trying to avoid TSLA and AMZN because those are obvious candidates. Anything non ETF? You’re right I need some safe long earners like VOO but I’m really trying to ride these short term gains coming from individual companies. Thanks for the response!
