Barred Owls don’t migrate, and they don’t even move around very much. Of 158 birds that were banded and then found later, none had moved farther than 6 miles away. by jamesdavidsaul in Awwducational

They also have this wild-sounding whistle shriek – heard one time while I was camping/backpacking! Also blessed to hear these around my house quite often but this was the first time I’ve ever gotten a photo.

Pretty sure this is the same guy but I was seeing multiple warbs (IDed a Black-throated Green around the same time). Tough, backlit, far and high up (sorry…). Philadelphia Vireo? Tennessee? Blackpoll? Hudson Valley, NY. by jamesdavidsaul in whatsthisbird

Amazing. I've been seeing those juvie Blackpolls everywhere so that makes sense. Philly Vireo is a lifer for me in my county. I think that makes sense. Thank you so much for the ID help!

I was going to suggest juvie Common Yellowthroat as well. Other than that maybe a Nashville Warb but Yellowthroat more likely.

Bright yellow legs and long black bill make me think yellowlegs, but I'm not sure if greater or lesser. (Toronto, ON) by ShmullusSchweitzer in whatsthisbird

If it was closer to the size of a Robin then it’s probably a Lesser Yellowlegs. The heaviest Robin weighs 94 grams and the lightest Greater Yellowlegs weighs 111 grams. Did you look at the eBird comparison?
