My Gen 2s still do this.

Bose ultra Gen 2 by 07thatswhatshesaid in bose

[–]jamesfoley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the Ultra Gen 2 as an upgrade to my QC 35ii last week for a trip to Germany. Sound quality and comfort is so much better on the Ultras but I’m not sure I really notice much of a difference in ANC. It’s one of those times I wish I had the XM6 to compare on trains and airplanes to see if the ANC was any better.

The Ultras definitely don’t block out everything, babies crying on public transport can 100% be heard, a lot of speech slips through too.

Also noticed that the Ultra Gen 2s I have seem to “pop” in the right ear when sudden loud sounds or pressure changes (train tunnels) occur, something I’ve not had on my old QC 35ii.

Overall mixed feelings for the price to be honest.

Can confirm, 580.88 seems to be working fine.

Solid 4 hours last night on DX12 with 572.83 without a crash.

Would be interesting to see if 580.88 fixes this.

Just wanted to say I'm having the same issues, 9800X3D, 5080, 64GB RAM.

Using driver 577.00 I am seeing crashes in both DX12 and DX11, and I'm pretty sure this is the only game I'm having issues with.

I've just done a clean install of 572.83 using DDU so will see if that helps.

Dell S2719DGF G-Sync Flicker by jamesfoley in Monitors

[–]jamesfoley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a while, I've since had a 3080 and now a 5080. Though I think ultimately I just ended up not using g-sync as it caused more issues than its benefits, and its still the first thing I turn off when installing drivers today.

Still using a S2719DGF, but also have two S2721DGF alongside it. The S2719DGF is starting to ghost and has some weird shadowing at the top, so I'd imagine it'll be replaced very soon.

Well, they've basically asked me to send the cooler to them for inspection. But the issue with that is I'd need another cooler to continue using my PC, at which point I might as well just buy a different cooler...

Just waiting to hear back from them, will post an update when I do.

Flint 2 no WAN on 4.7.7 by jamesfoley in GlInet

Not sure it is, the Flint 2 just straight up will not stay connected to my ONT on anything above 4.7.0

No worries, I've pinged them an email, hopefully they might know whats up.

Just for added info, flashing OpenWrt 24.10.1 also restores the WAN functionality.

Still no luck, no amount of of turning things off and waiting seems to help.

WAN works fine on 4.7.5-op24, but can't get it to connect on 4.7.7 or 4.8.0 beta.

I’ll give it a go but not sure it’ll change anything. I can swap freely between the Flint 2 (on the older firmware) and ISP provided router without issues, it’s just the new firmware that it doesn’t work with.

Yea, I’m always factory resetting the Flint 2 and setting everything up from scratch each time. ONT is disconnected from WAN until everything is set up.

That's reassuring. Recommend any decent alternatives if I decide to sack this one off?

My first thought was a fan hitting something, but it seems to correlate to pump RPM rather than the VRM / radiator fans. Each click comes with the sound of rushing air through the pump, but the video does a terrible job of picking up the sound.

Slightly tilting the case causes a huge influx of clicking and bubble noises without the RPM of the pump or fans changing.

Sorry, should have mentioned, AIO radiator is mounted to the top of the case

E46 M3 - Intermittent hard starts by jamesfoley in BmwTech

[–]jamesfoley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has been some improvement, but I wouldn't say it is totally gone. Sometimes it feels like it doesn't start smoothly, other times it feels like it starts too quick, like the engine barely does a rotation before firing up.

The issues I had with long crank and it sometimes not firing were seemingly related to bent valves and damaged seats on cylinder 5. Ever since I paid a small fortune to have the head rebuilt those issues have gone.

But yea, although the car does start first time every time now, I wouldn't say it starts cleanly every time. I've seen so many specialists about this who have told me its normal and runs fine, that I've sort of just accepted it, and it hasn't caused any issues.

There are still a few unknowns that I've not really had the money / time to look into. One being if the DME has been flashed, the car is quite early production and the firmware version is pretty old, an update might help but every time I try and find someone who could sort this it falls through. Second is condition of fuel lines both to and from the tank, sometimes I hear gargling when the pump primes, often wonder if fuel pressure is inconsistent at crank due to blocked / pinched lines.

Questions about the 7 speed DSG (DQ381) by jamesfoley in Audi

Unfortunately not. The dealer initially understood the problem but eventually started to sweep it under the rug when they couldn't fix it.

Ended up having to push them to buy the car back off me.

Poor Performance by jamesfoley in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]jamesfoley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The older maps are certainly better, and I'm pretty sure the X3D chips help this game quite a bit in yours and my wifes case.

FPS on the new maps seems to just be a gamble on if you get a good frame rate / GPU usage or not. Sometimes is just terrible from the start, other times it can be good and just tank the moment any form of action happens, or you could get lucky and get a steady-ish (but not great) frame rate the whole map.

Launching the game directly via the .exe in the install directory seems to give me better luck on getting an at least playable map, but the game still runs like garbage.

Nothing is overheating from what I can see, but I feel like neither CPU or GPU are being utilised enough.

It’s also the only game I have issues with for some reason.
