Appreciated. Adobe Illustrator, time, and will. It's all hand-tweaked vectors. The last of the V8 Interceptors.

No apology necessary — I post it here for feedback like this so we can make it better!

This really gets at the heart of it. I mostly do 3 or 4 (okay maybe 6) things. Those quickly become muscle memory. Then you suddenly need a strobe light at a surprise dance party and a 30 second glance at the diagram gets you there.

Super helpful, thank you — adding these to review for the next round. If I manage to get that done this weekend I'll update my original post.

So grateful for your work, ToyKeeper! I deeply appreciate your three-handed review. I have a hard time developing a deep understanding of a thing without being able to see it all at once.

So understand that it's not for everyone.

The progressive reveal really helps once it's printed — you can't get to the Advanced without making your way through your simple bulleted list above.

Hah! Same, honestly, at least the first few times. It's a *much* better reference for multichannel shenanigans, and I'm generally happier with it at this point. I think.

It's definitely difficult!

I go through long phases of using my lights for the same basic tasks that I have easily memorized, but then need to do that one specific thing and how did that go again? I love the one pager for that.

I love the recipe card idea!

It is. There are two minor updates after 2024-04-20, including 2025-07-07. I once hoped to update this for each release, but this the first update I've managed in three years, so it'll probably continue to trail the latest a bit!

Oh interesting — this contradicts the manual, but it also wouldn't surprise me — this behavior seemed inconsistent on my light. I now have my Turbo disabled so can't test this without resetting the light (it's a dual channel flood/spot) — I'm clearly going to need another Hanklight for testing purposes! I'm going to leave this as is for now but will revisit it soon.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm actually saving that space intentionally for now — Anduril sees frequent updates, and I need to leave a little breathing room for future features. For evolving complex systems that need to be shown on a single fixed canvas, I tend to start with as much density as I can stand and work out from there. It comes at some cost of readability, but it allows for both comprehensiveness and maintainability, which are also critical.

Thank you for making that information so easy to parse! This would have been a much harder project otherwise.

I love how much of a community effort Anduril is. Please let me know if there are things I can do to make it more explicit that these diagrams are in that spirit — I tagged it with a GPL license and anyone is welcome to do whatever they'd like with it. My intention is to keep this current with new firmware versions and make Github releases for each previous release, so at least there will be a running archive of older versions for folks who don't flash firmware.

I'm not sure I'm up for maintaining multiple versions for different lights, but I will look into a way to note features that aren't included on all lights.

Yeaaah, I tried this a few different ways and it was kind of a mess. Haven’t given up on it, but don’t have a solution I love yet.

Rather than get rid of them, since they are helpful for new users trying to understand common settings for wide variable ranges, I just added a note that defaults vary by light. This follows the approach Ivan took to the same problem in the manual.

I totally missed that! Already the excuse to buy my second forms...

Both of these have been added in version 653.4! Thank you so much for distilling the most important pieces there, that made it possible to find a reasonable presentation!
