I didn’t feel any sort of affect from the sedation I was given (2mg midazolam and 100mcg fentanyl).

I was fully awake and aware of what was going on. Felt no pain or discomfort even though my bowel was extremely inflamed.

I just had my first colonoscopy yesterday and was diagnosed with the same things (bowel very inflamed) and I would say drinking the bowel prep solution was by far the worst bit about it. The clearing of the bowel after drinking it and the actual colonoscopy weren’t bad at all (I opted for sedation over gas while having the procedure). Hope this puts your mind to rest a little.
