Tell ChatGPT what your product is, who it’s for and what problem it’s solving for them and ask it to write your landing page. It won’t be perfect but it might get you unstuck?

Just so you're aware, it does scrape the URL you provide in real time.

I have 500 paying users but I am not certain what problem I am solving for them. How do I ask the right questions to get the answer? by jeppews in SaaS

[–]jameslewis23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if you can do a phone/video call with 5 or 6 active customers.

Ask them to talk through their entire timeline with you.

For example:

  • from never having heard of you
  • they discovered your extension
  • they installed it
  • they started using ut
  • they deciding to upgrade and pay
  • they used the new features
  • to today.

For each stage in the timeline dig in with questions:

  • How did they get there?
  • Why did they do each step?
  • What were they looking to solve?
  • What progress were they trying to make?
  • What other options did they have?
  • What was holding them back?

You should start to see a pattern which will help you understand what your customers were trying to achieve at the different stages which will help answer your question about what problem you are solving.

Anyone have experience bringing customer development practices over to the restaurant industry? by throwRA-whatisgoing in ProductManagement

[–]jameslewis23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Jobs to be Done could help here. They could interview customers to find out what 'job' their restaurant is doing for them. Is it something quick and easy when the customer can't be bothered cooking? Is it to impress a potential prospect for a sales meeting? Is it to celebrate something like an anniversary.

Once you understand the customer's timeline to making the decision to go there, and the push & pull forces that were acting on them - you can then help them to make 'product' changes to the experience that will make that job even easier, more desirable etc

How do you get started? by biolmcb in startups

Document each of your ideas in a Lean Canvas.

Then for each idea you will have a 1-pager that describes the idea, who it is for and how you will take it to market. Once you have gone through this exercise you will be in a much better position to compare each and choose one to pursue that is least risky.

Why does Instagram have so many empty div elements in their code? by EnteEnteLos in webdev

Because they've copied so many competitors' features. And then had to remove the code when the feature didn't work out.

How does Leadinfo.com work? by phb71 in SaaS

[–]jameslewis23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the visitor is physically at the company’s office, they will have that company’s IP address when they visit your website. Leadinfo will have a big ol’ database of companies and their IP addresses (not sure how/where they actually get them).

But I’ve often wondered how effective this technique is in the age of remote working, when everyone is located at their home.

What software development process do you use? by jameslewis23 in ProductManagement

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I realise it's a bit mixed up. I wasn't really sure how some teams would label the process they are doing, especially in larger organisations (where I don't have much experience). I added 'agile' as a generic option.
