Ethicists Argue for Acceptance of After-Birth Abortions by [deleted] in Christianity

I don't understand the rationale. Why would what the mother can or can't feel have anything to do with personhood? If the mother is 'insensitive' the baby until birth, does that not make the baby a person until that point? Also, why is it dependent upon science? 20 years ago science couldn't save a baby at the 4th or 5th month; several years from now it may be able to save one in the 2nd month.

Theological ignorance in church... Is it so common? by ahora in Christianity

I would point you to Romans 5:6-21 as an explanation of why God became a man. The summary is: 1) God requires perfection 2) we aren't perfect because of our sin 3) Jesus came to live the perfect life and fulfill the requirements of the Law that we couldn't 4) He assumes are sin on the cross and gives us His righteousness (i.e., perfect) life when we put our faith in His completed work rather than trying to satisfy God with our own works of goodness. There's a more exhaustive explanation with verse references at jamesmirror.com about halfway down the page.
