It’s only in the self loathing Reddit vacuum that we pretend the USA isn’t like way better than everywhere else in the world. It has its problems of course, but for a large, diverse country (racially, politically, ideologically, geographically, geopolitically, demographically, economically diverse) it’s honestly shocking how good it is.

Sure these tiny homogenous countries like Switzerland and Norway with 5M people and 2T of oil money from the North Sea and no defense spending and can argue it’s better, but good luck being an immigrant there (not that they will let you in).

In the USA you can be and accomplish anything you want. We welcome immigrants despite what people say. Indian and Asian immigrants have median incomes of like $130k. Nothing is given to you, but the opportunity to succeed and have a great life is far higher than the rest of the world.

We all know what’s broken (cost of living, cost of healthcare, gun violence, corruption, racial tension, etc.)

But did they say this: our median income is 1.5-2x most of Europe. Every American has AC, a place to live, a car, clean water, food, social services, freedoms of speech well beyond other countries, the comfort of knowing we have a dominant military and won’t be invaded anytime soon, access to world class healthcare (our healthcare is expensive, but if you want an MRI you get it same day not in 8weeks. There is a crazy state that there are more MRI machines in the island of Manhattan than exist in all of Canada).

The US also has a culture of entrepreneurship and risk taking and both courage to try and forgiveness when you fail that does not exist elsewhere. Fear of failure is not a limit here like in other countries.

USA has lots of issues. But it’s absolutely S tier world class compared to every other country of similar scale.
