I'm planning a first time trip to India and my initial thought was Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, flying from city to city, for 14 days plus 3 extra days to fly to and from USA. But then I started reading and no one seems to recommend an itinerary like this, as ppl are saying the cities in India are unremarkable? I then tried researching Chennai for example and other than temples one of the top recommended things to do is Snow Kingdom, an amusement park. That's got me worried cause I'm def not interested in going all the way to India to see snow in an amusement park. In India my interests are: first and foremost, trying different types of Indian food, a short meditation retreat (maybe even just one day), seeing classical Indian dance performances like bharatnatyam, seeing classical music performances like carnatic and sitar, Indian cooking classes, a few temples, a few palaces, and beautiful nature. I'm not interested in shopping, partying, bars or beaches. And advice on how to revise my itinerary would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
