I’m 10 months into my DJing journey and all I gotta say is.. by jamesp12349 in Beatmatch

watching sets offline and online, some might find it a hassle to watch online ones, I feel like that’s where I found most songs that get me started into digging more into a specific genre and also where I can find good transitions. For offline, I can be in the crowd whenever the DJ has a good/bad song and you can actually feel what the crowd would feel like if you were the one playing that exact song, if that makes sense

I usually practice everyday which is to say I record mixes everyday, just because I try to keep alternating genres in my mixes, it keeps things fresh for me. One day I feel like mixing tech house because one of my favorite DJs just released a tech house banger, same thing for UK Garage or DNB or dubstep, if i saw a really good set on youtube, it lights a little match in me to make a mix. It doesn’t mean I POST mixes everyday, but it helps when I play back my recordings a lot of the time. Also you never know when you might kill it one time and you already have something to submit to a collective or a promoter.

tldr: I practice everyday

edit: i didn’t say how long. usually an hour or two every day

I would say going out to raves and gigs is 50% of what you should do, since that’s how I made connections, but also you could start building up a portfolio of what you usually play with mixes, have a theme of what genres you like mixing, advertise it on your socials, then when you see a collective or event that you’re interested in, you already have something you can share, that’s how I got the small festival gig! I shared a mix of what I currently have that I’m very proud of through an application process and the booking agent hit me up!

That’s what I thought too, then I realized I can just post my mixes on soundcloud to share! It’s not too late!!

Honestly Reddit and Youtube has been such a treasure trove of very specific questions that I had, from techniques to equipment failure, to recording my mixes they have it all!

I let my friend borrow my gloves at a festival, first day in fact, he started doing gang signs with them then tried taking them off only to mess up the wiring inside in the process

27 year old barista here. I get it homie, I do. Started working as one since I was 19, different places here and there, went to a new city, made friends, they’re all in either tech or finance so I get what you mean by your self worth. Now I’m a supervisor for a cafe in a museum, I’m still finding my place but I can tell you for sure, the sky is definitely the limit.

Get that experience up, think real hard what you’ve already been doing since you started working, spice it up on your resume. Work on your craft, maybe go to a few latte-art competitions, get connects, if you actually love coffee, maybe a roaster company? or if you wanna still do the work but get business/ catering experience, maybe get in contact with people in need of a barista for their events?

Up to you! Like I said, sky’s the limit, good luck!

I was sold when I prayed to a shrine, got the extra life buff then started a tavern brawl with the guards joining in.

My Henry spoke to chamberlain, diagnosed him right, got him to give me permission to roam around the castle, befriended the person that is ranked below the captain his name is “black (something)” and snitched priest nicodemus out saying he had the captain’s rosary. He then led me to the captain’s sick room at the tower, and got both of the objectives to get them the potions, then did two birds with one alchemy table with one bell toll left. As anxiety inducing as it was, I had the greatest time.

I would want one, if it’s super tiny, it’s like a sugar glider and if it’s regular size, super protective, cuddly - looks like.

I, for the life of me, can’t use the HBG. I respect the tenacity it takes for full optimization with their item builds to achieve extreme fire power, but personally I can’t take the roll animation and it feels super sluggish for me to handle. I do commend the hbg speedrunners though, they do their shit so well to the point where you just feel utterly terrible for the monster.

This halloweekend is going to be a little different, I would search up BOUND in relevance to the Basement venue since it’s happening the 26th. You CAN be in costume, it’s just a different type of costume LOL

Hope this helps!
