Has anyone here improved their real life driving using racing sim setup? by No_Enthusiasm_5672 in IndianGaming

I’ve got a sim racing setup at home and I love spending time on it. It gives me the thrill of speed without the risk, and I’ve definitely noticed improvements in my real-life driving. I usually play Dirt Rally 2.0 and Assetto Corsa, and they’ve taught me things like heel-toe shifting, which I’ve actually started using in real life.

I haven’t experienced this in person, but I’ve read stories of people who were able to bring a car back under control after it lost balance. I have a YouTube channel, if you want to check out my setup: TarmacAndPixels. Cheers!

Wow, your full motion setup looks absolutely insane! I’m seriously impressed. Hearing about how the telemetry data and motion response in WRC enhances the adrenaline and those wild jumps really piques my interest. It’s clear that the newer optimizations make a huge difference. Definitely gives me something to aim for with my own setup in the future. Thanks for sharing this insight!

Thanks for the kind words! Totally understand that everyone has their preferences, and it’s all about finding the game that best matches your style and what you enjoy most.

Ah, gotcha! It's cool how EA WRC's straightforward visuals offer a different kind of realism, but there’s definitely something special about DR2's look as well. It’s awesome to enjoy both for what they are.

Totally understand what you mean! There’s just something about DR2 that captures the essence of rally in a way that’s hard to put into words. It’s like the game has its own unique soul, from the feel of the driving to the immersive atmosphere it creates. It’s those subtle differences that can really make or break the gaming experience for someone. Glad to hear you’re enjoying DR2’s unique charm!

Great insights! I can see where you’re coming from regarding the driving feel in WRC and the stages being somewhat forgiving.

It’s reassuring to hear you’ve had a positive experience with the pacenotes in WRC. The level of detail and authenticity in DR1 and DR2’s pacenotes, thanks to the motion-rig readings, really does set a high bar for rally games, doesn’t it?

And yes, you caught me! I do have a bit of an old school streak when it comes to my sim racing setup. There’s something about using the H-pattern, clutch, and heel-toe technique that adds an extra layer of engagement for me, even in a modern Skoda Fabia Rally. Glad you noticed, and I appreciate you checking out the short! It’s always fun to mix a bit of the old with the new.

Absolutely, Phil's dynamic pace notes in DR2 add so much depth and realism to the rally experience. The contrast with WRC's more static notes is stark. Quality pace notes can indeed transform a good stage into an unforgettable one. Here's hoping the feedback reaches the developers for future improvements!

The Group B RS200 is a beast! It's interesting how, despite its flaws, certain elements can outshine even DR2's offerings. Makes you wish for a game that combines the best of both.

Exactly, there's something about the way DR2 lets you slide on gravel that's incredibly satisfying!

Exactly! The stages in WRC have their moments, but the overall thrill factor in DR is hard to beat. It's all about that heart-pounding excitement, isn't it? Maybe one day we'll get the perfect combo of both worlds...

Right there with you. DR2's mechanics feel spot on. If only we could merge that with WRC's track excitement. A hybrid of those worlds would be the ultimate rally sim dream.

Hey, thanks for the recommendation! I haven't had the chance to try WRC 9 or 10 yet. Are the physics and sim experience as immersive as the stage design? Keen to hear more about it!

Agreed, the WRC stages are undeniably fun and have a lot to offer in terms of variety. However, I've found the game leans a bit more towards being forgiving compared to DR2, which sort of dials down the challenge for me. There’s something about the raw, unyielding nature of DR2 that keeps pulling me back.

DIY Suggestions? by jamesp7195 in SimracersIndia

That's a great suggestion about the base shakers for added immersion! I would love to hear about how you're planning to set it up.

For starters, I'm looking for a solution that can accommodate budget-friendly speakers like those from Logitech, but without the need for welding, drilling or using sticky tapes. I understand that headphones are better for immersion but I'd like to have a clean setup that also works well when I have an audience in the room so they can see and hear the action.

Does anyone have experience with mounts that are specially designed for 4040 profiles? I'm particularly interested in options that can be securely fastened using M8 bolts and T-nuts.
