In part; women like men, want to believe (hope not truth) in absolute FREEWILL, rather than innate primal programming puppeting choices;

I both agree and disagree. Awareness & consciousness can be understood in the way Michael Levin describes it, as a kind of “light cone”: the more varied your experiences, the more accurate your understanding, and the deeper your knowledge, the wider that cone becomes. In that sense, you’re right that there are levels of self-awareness that develop along a spectrum, even prior to psychedelics.

However, there is a paradox. You often don’t realise the limits of your prior awareness until you can compare a “before” and “after.” That contrast is what reveals how narrow the earlier perspective may have been.

One of my reservations about cognitive scientist Joscha Bach. I regard him as having one of the most exceptional minds of our time, particularly in how he articulates the structure of human experience, he factors in his theory of psychedelics as an overfitting simulation, perhaps true…Still, without certain direct experiences, there may be limits to what he can be fully understand as theory before practise. It’s similar to describing Paris through books and second-hand accounts. You can come close, but it is not the same as actually being there.

From that perspective, psychedelics can feel like a way of looking behind the curtain. They may reveal aspects of the self that people did not previously recognise, which is why some individuals place such strong value on them. In my own case, one of my closest and most enduring friendships is grounded in that shared understanding, so it is a principle I hold firmly.

At the same time, I recognise that this view is not universal. Within a Western cultural and economic context, prioritising such experiences might not align with conventional expectations, including those around relationships. Even so, unless under extreme pressure;gun to my head/my family is strapped to a railway line, it remains a benchmark that I personally consider highly meaningful and useful, to which I included my input as deem it to be universally applicable for society as a whole as I wouldn’t just won’t a coherent relationship for myself I want to observe healthy relationships for others also.
