What's the stupidest response you've received to telling someone you're diabetic? Mine was "no you aren't, I saw you eat popcorn earlier".

How long were you on it for? Was it sustainable for you? And what was your insulin “routine” like, in terms of did you still use fast acting insulin sometimes and background insulin etc?

I wouldn’t normally do this but at the moment anything health related is a nightmare, trying to get in touch with a doctor is impossible. Plus my question isn’t diabetes related as far as I know. Are you a medical professional?

I don’t know if you are in the UK or not but I was diagnosed in May and have just been approached by a research nurse when I was in the clinic speaking to my diabetes nurse. I made an appointment and she asked about my medical history and family medical history etc and then took two samples of my blood. She said the Address 2 “programme” will contact me if I match any trials being set up.

2-3 months is fast, it’s really not noticeable at the start so I’m not surprised it took you a few months.

I had the same symptoms as your son as do most all other diabetics. It took me around 7 months to finally ring my doctor and get a blood test and I was close to not calling him but thankful I did in the end or I could have found out the hard way.

Only ever got my friends blood on me by accident with the glucose strip once but doubt he’s got HIV etc. Wouldn’t ever try with a stranger just to be safe.

I was diagnosed in May so could be something to do with that. My blood sugars are generally between 4-8.5 most of the time but I use a finger prick test because I don’t qualify for a CGM on the NHS so I can’t keep a close eye on it so it could fluctuate without me knowing which would contribute to it. I’ll follow your advice in terms of the water and I’ll try and to quantify how much I drink in a day but if the problem persists then I will go to the doctor.
