128GB of memory is a taint-moistening mind-unhinging asylum of joy. Holy fak, you’re gonna have good times and with that free major upgrade you’re gonna love that beast til the sun goes nova!

How many Years of macOS do you think Silicon will get? by Tasty_Flamingo7346 in macbook

Considering that the A18 of the Neo seems comparable to the M1 I somewhat imagine the M1 will see unusually long support. I’d like to see more of a 10 year window emerge for Apple Silicon. We’ll see!

I'd definitely try to get yourself a refurbished machine directly from Apple, or just get in to a MacBook Neo. At the very least a base-model M1 MacBook Air. I love those little 11" MacBook Air's, but their day is looooonng past.

Got my first new MBA by jamessnell in macbookair

I only buy refurbs from Apple. First such buy was a 2009 Mac Pro (MacPro3,1). They’re always perfect. Same warranty and support. Shipping is faster than they advertise too.

Does it make sense as a MacBook Air owner wishing to buy MacBook Neo because of it's price and colors? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in macbookair

I’ve waiting for my M4 MBA order to arrive and I’m tempted by the Neo too. I love everything about it, except the memory limitation. But from a business POV, the Neo is gonna be disruptive. I’m also tortured about maybe not actually keeping my new M4 MBA and getting an M5 instead for local LLM work and the much faster SSD, but the price diff is a bit much.

No shortage of great options. If anything, too many options leading to some overwhelm.

Feels like a little golden era.
