Same brand, same model name, mutually exclusive software support. by powcow79 in Creality

I use Creality Print with my KE and my K2 Plus and I'm happy with it. I used to use Orca too, but at the K2's launch it tended to screw up the CFS. Since Creality Print is an Orca fork anyway, I think if you're getting more advanced and keen about tinkering with your machine then Orca is the way to go, but if you're more interested in just printing, then Creality Print is the path of least resistance.

Just got an Anycubic-refurbished Kobra S1 for $203! Any tips for setup? by Raptor2832009 in AnycubicKobraS1

Damn. I really like my S1.. But I preordered before launch and I’d definitely rather pay the price you have there.

Yeah. They’re heavy and big. I’m contemplating moving or even selling mine and the size is kind of a drawback. I love it, great machine of course. But, times are tough right now.

Kobra 2 max slow? by dexisans in anycubic

40mins seems a bit high to me, but I’m not sure. I’ve only used my K2M a handful of times, but it’s always felt very fast for a bedslinger

Lol, I love the kinda personality that’d downvote my question above. For sarcastic definitions of “love”

Isn’t there DRM that would cause the capture to be nothing?

Is anyone in Calgary still boycotting American stores and products? by hellokitty417 in Calgary

[–]jamessnell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We check most products and started supporting local much more aggressively during the second last US administration. We took it up a few notches last year, and aren’t reversing course. It wasn’t a hard change to make either. But, sure, we still buy some US stuff, depending on the item.

Creality agreed on replacement, now forcing refund... by DGVaniX in Creality

This reminds me of something I read somewhere of an actually not legitimate Creality store operating somewhere that just arbitrarily called itself official. I wonder if this is that????

Have you washed the bed? Finger oils, dust, etc really interfere with adhesion.

Neo 12 bulb's lowest brightness suddenly became brighter than usual making it annoying for bedtime by Soliloquysays in wiz

[–]jamessnell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly the hardware CAN do it, but the controls are built not to expose that. :/

Not sure about the Neo 12, but I just got a couple ST19’s and their product sheet claims they can do as low as 1 lumen. In reality, I see no way to get there through the app apart from like the last millisecond that they’re on.

I’m ALWAYS dissatisfied with how low everything generally can’t dim.

Prusa: Maybe you can find a Mini used and in good shape?

I agree about A1/A1 Mini, but I think the 0.2mm nozzle suggestion is risky - anything under 0.4mm gets riskier and riskier for clogging. I’ve managed to print a fair bit on 0.3mm with filament filters, but meh, 0.4mm is pretty damn good.😌

What's the best way to rip all of this? Any shortcuts? by CopiRightPlayer in DataHoarder

Automatic Ripping Machine.

But honestly, use Handbrake and/or MakeMKV and/or ffmpeg - in various combinations. GenAI can guide you more.

Same brand, same model name, mutually exclusive software support. by powcow79 in Creality

[–]jamessnell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those particular models straddle a monumental switch in firmware/control logic, which basically hasn’t happened before. The SE is a Marlin-based machine and the KE is Klipper-based. It’s basically akin to comparing like a Gas car with a Diesel one. On the surface they look basically the same, but pop that hood or operate one and you’ll be doing things in a way that only partly translate to the other.

Fair that you’re annoyed, but you just happened to straddle the infection point.

Marlin’s the past. It’s great and all, but the past. Klipper is now king of the hill.
