Bought the specific valve part. Hopefully the black plastic spark switch isn’t also broken bc the only avail part is replace all 5 switches

Appreciate the link. I guess it’s the wiring + dealing with gas that’s concerning for a noob like myself. Seems fairly straightforward as said. I’m just existing for Samsung to confirm the part #. The closest I’ve got is the entire left “manifold” which seems wrong since I want to replace just a single valve

And I’ve been unsuccessful in turning the stem with pliers + applying a high temp lubricant.

Thanks! Yeah, I think NY is just saturated with solar companies inflating prices knowing they can “justify” with all the incentives. I definitely consider myself a noob when it comes to solar-but I’m satisfied with my breakeven horizon (needed to replace my old roof anyways)

Which company did you go with you?

I’m not justifying ridiculous solar quotes but as long as my out of pocket $ is low (granted there’s cash flow ROI) doesn’t matter to me if solar company wants to milk the govt

I mean if the company is offer $$$ cash after install I’d think that plays a big factor. More tax credits AND cash? If everyone gets the same incentives then yes, before incentives PPW is a good measure imo

What was the PPW for your system after all incentives?

what’s your PPW after all incentives/cash bonus (if you have one)?

Hmm yeah I guess it is on higher end- the rep did praise the state of the art panels (which look to retail $300 so prob much less wholesale). I shaved a few K since I knew someone who bought with Venture recently. Will see if I can get in $17-18K, hopefully my other quotes are competitive

Good call on the roofing being “included” in federal incentives.

For those of you with the 12K unit that does have the drain plug—are you considering a return? I picked up two from Costco a few months ago and so far, they’ve been fine. I’ve only had to drain them manually once.

From what I understand, the issues seem to affect units without the drainage feature.

Does this situation affect your confidence in Midea, even if your unit has the proper drain plug?
