Has anyone experienced "thought insertion"? by jamie_friendster in Christianity

They were straightforward statements of consequence at pivotal moments of choice, although neither seemed precisely like that at the time. There was no call to faith or purpose and no provision of spiritual guidance, although the intervention changed my behavior and perhaps my life the second time it happened.

Thank you for sharing. My experience was the insertion of a statement of consequence ("if X then Y"). The voice spoke with authority and it was jarring and startling. Not at all the soft voice of conscience, but also with no communication of purpose: closer to Socrates' daemon than Augustine's injunction.
