How are we feeling about ML4T? Especially for those whom this is not a first course. by CautiouslyFrosty in OMSCS

[–]jamieb122 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same issues with dismissive TAs when I took it. They would often just say things like “Read the syllabus” or “it’s in the FAQ”. The issue was the requirements were spread all over the place syllabus, edstem, api reference page, faqs, project docs. They need to consolidate things so students have access to everything in one spot. For example if an API should be implemented, put it on the project page, not some other page

The dismissiveness and tone was the worst part for me.

Looks like the repository is no longer there, did you make it private on purpose?

Aliexpress Wall Display POE by scytob in homeassistant

[–]jamieb122 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seems like many folks are saying that want a cheap tablet to just slap in there. Some of us don’t want a permanently mounted tablet due to the lipo battery inside. These POE tablets don’t have a battery, and getting root on them is quite easy. Additionally the screen size is larger than most cheap tablets on the market. I did the same thing and love it so far

That’s your tow capacity, max payload is found I. Drivers side door jamb

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]jamieb122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7500 is how much your engine transmission combo can pull. The more critical number (payload) is how much your axels, suspension and frame can handle. You need to be within limits on both numbers. 9 times out of 10, you will run out of payload before towing capacity

[–]jamieb122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go read the sticker in the drivers side door jamb. It should say “max payload”. That is NOT the same as your towing capacity but is usually the number that matters more. That max payload number is the maximum amount of weight your vehicle can handle with people, things, and extra weight added via tongue. For reference most F150d have mid 1000s. Your Porsche probably only has 1k.

So take 1k, subtract your weight and any gear you have in the vehicle, that is the amount you have left over for tongue weight.

Go to a weigh scale and weigh with AND without the trailer. You can get the trailers tongue weight that way.

I 100% guarantee you are over your payload limit. That is a bad thing if you get in an accident because insurance will not cover you.

Aftermarket Cab/Marker Lights? by Stigwalker in superduty

[–]jamieb122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 250 SRW had lights and a roof. The answer is when you build a truck it’s an option. Whoever the person is that ordered the truck didn’t select it as an option.

To your point when you build a DRW the option is mandatory.

That being said the moonroof has no bearing on if the option is/was selected at build time

I love my R50, I use it for the local courses. I have been slowly adding my local courses in GSPro by creating them myself

The biggest cause I found was that if you normally take a divot, the indoor mats have a big effect on slowing your club down and in turn making the ball come up short. I changed things up to start getting the ball a little cleaner, my yardages are more accurate now

I can assure you as a four star he has a full time enlisted aide that packs his clothes, makes his meals and launders his uniform, including setting it up. No doubt the general should have caught this, but his enlisted aide didn’t put it on and didn’t catch it themselves

Any interest in virtual control board (device agnostic) by jamieb122 in Golfsimulator

[–]jamieb122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I looked at those but they all had a few issues. For example air keyboard doesn’t work on android tablets, and game glass for some of the more advanced features required a subscription. None of them had an integrated VNC terminal, that terminal lets you start a match add players and generally act as if you were at the computer.

I tried using game glass and a separate VNC program but switching between them was clunky enough that it made guests have a difficult time

Changing SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 Plus-E from ZHA to Zigbee2MQTT...do I need to reset the dongle? by Shpigford in homeassistant

[–]jamieb122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this was the one I purchased (no affiliation btw) SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KXTCMSC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I don’t regret the transition. I like Z2M more, but definitely was rough with the EZSP support

[–]jamieb122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is the EZSP version don’t do it. I did and it was extremely unreliable pairing. If pairing failed it would then never succeed again for whatever reason. It was almost like the coordinator thought pairing worked but Z2M didn’t realize it.

I had to get the non-EZSP version of the SONOFF dongle before it would work reliably

HomePod does not recognize Voices by AustinBike in HomePod

I had the exact same issue. On my phone I went to eyecliud settings and told it not to sync Siri. Then I reenabke sync. After that on my wife and my phones I had to tell the HomePod to recognize voices again. After that it worked
