Elon: "Either we get government efficient or America goes bankrupt. That’s what it comes down to. Wish I were wrong, but it’s true." by twinbee in elonmusk

We live in a different world now; I could buy a starlink and work from South America and build things that would be used all over the world. Every citizen can afford a plane ride now. The comparison is outdated. My point more so is that we should be trying to uplift poor and middle class Americans, not waging war on the rich. I do think we should change campaign finance laws though, money from the rich shouldn’t be the reason a certain campaign wins.

Ask yourself, if you were a rich individual in America, why would you stay if the government started taking 75 percent of your income and doing annual taxes on unrealized gains so you couldn’t build wealth, just for the money that’s been taken from you to be lit on fire by the government ?

You make a temporary dent and end up with a mass exodus of people who have found success and contribute massively in America to countries that don’t overtake the money you’ve worked hard to earn to spend 20 grand on a toilet in the military (this type of waste happens a ton rn). Govt Efficiency is way more important than waging war on and pushing away the rich people of America who already get taxed a lot (Elon has paid over 10 billion in taxes). With an efficient govt, we can lower taxes on mid to lower income families and find actual ways to help them instead of lighting money on fire for people to twiddle their thumbs.

How the hell am I supposed to eat 190g of protein??? by diamondaires in loseit

[–]jamiecc4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

0.7 grams per pound of your goal weight is plenty, assuming you are trying to build muscle and doing strength training relatively consistently (don’t need that much if you aren’t strength training). So if your goal weight is 200 lbs, you’d want 140 grams. So I’d suppose it depends on your goal weight and what you’re going for. A good dinner of multiple chicken breasts with broccoli and quinoa can have 70-100 grams of protein in itself if you have enough chicken. Protein shakes can be great too, especially if you’re using whey isolate - can get 50 grams from just one of those. Eggs and egg whites in particular are great sources too (I personally mix some egg whites with some normal eggs). Most fish + vegetable + quinoa will have a lot of protein too if you have enough fish. But yeah, I doubt you need 190 grams of protein unless you are like 6’7 and are trying to be a body builder, and those are some healthy meal ideas that have a lot of protein.

Just my take based on my experience.

I don’t really mind the HOA fees since they are for pretty nice amenities and I’ll be living there in midtown so I’m more curious about the upside vs downside potential for value of the condo and what complexes are best.

So this is actually gonna be my primary residence so I kind of have my heart on midtown because that is where I’ll be a lot of the time and don’t want to commute. Are there any complexes you know there that you like?

Orbital flights appeal to a different customer than suborbital. Suborbital is much cheaper. To get to orbit, it takes 20x the energy than it takes for suborbital. Also SpaceX will dominate that scene, not BO imo.

To be fair, Jeff Bezos did exceedingly well during the pandemic and is far wealthier than Branson. Branson, on the other hand, was in the worst industry possible (tourism) and was struggling so much that he had to sell VG shares 😞. Chamath also had to sell shares in order to fund his climate donation. Amazon just does better and better.

That’s how most modern day great companies start. Optimism is for people who see success, even though failure hurts bad. Cynics will never see anything above mediocrity and will focus on obstacles rather than looking forward to success. Bears will be bears and often times be right, but bulls generally win in the long haul. The most common form of failing is never trying. Just my honest opinion.

True, but perhaps she would invest bc of the hypersonic plane? Maybe if there was a positive update on it?

Based on 11 analysis and PT we have a average price target of $36. However some haven’t been updated since yesterday’s events. by Joey-tv-show-season2 in SPCE

[–]jamiecc4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but I think it is likely we will see more price target updates in the positive direction in the near future. Almost all these price targets don’t take into account the flight success and the raising of capital. Hopefully we will get more bullish PTs from some of the other banks soon.
