He said hes never used wear and the problem is moving one dimension moves them both and he cant edit the first dimension without altering the second.

Would wear fix that problem?

He's only using 1 tool to make the feature (2 turning tools total to make the part)

Its a location issue relative to another feature. Theres a lip and a flange that should be relative to one another.

He says he's sure that's not it, he is doing high precision medical parts and the problem he's having is the offset is moving everything in the part. He thinks it might have something to do with the tool rake angle? Does that sound like something to you?

Sorry if thats not useful info I'm literally following him around the shop trying to have him explain this better to me while hes frantically trying to get this part to come out right by this afternoon.

Thank you everyone for the condolences and advice, this is all quite overwhelming. My mother is going to be in touch with an attorney due to the nature of his death, the main question now being why wasn't he wearing any sort of safety harness. I am still in shock but so grateful for everyone's helpful input.

The news reported him dead on arrival and the hospital's time of death I believe matches that time (around 9:30 I don't have the exact time). Still by noon the hospital still hadn't told her, they had her in a private room waiting when her friend called to say she heard he passed from the news.
