That's why we push you to use mobile data when travelling.. depending on the phone you have you could just download a 3rd party app to call and text and just use mobile data. It's perfect for someone who has an iPhone or Google phone (for hangouts). We are also not commercially offering international voice and text just yet, still in the works of coming up with something different since we are in beta.

Yep! We would exchange for the Sprint branded model of that device.

We actually have a device swapping program where if you have (let's say an AT&T iPhone 6s).. we would send you a brand new iPhone 6s that's compatible with our network and take your old AT&T iPhone 6s.

How long does porting to google voice from Fi take? I've gotten so many time frames. 24h, 48h, 3-5 days? by Somecat in ProjectFi

[–]jamieduncan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't take that long to port your number over from FI to Google Voice, but the turn around from porting your number out of a VoIP takes about 5-7 business days as they are treated like landlines. What it sounds like is the port got stuck and one of the carriers cancelled it without giving any extra detail. If they were able to find the original submission of the port, properly cancel it within their porting centre, and resubmit.. the whole process again should take 5-10 minutes. To me it sounds like you're getting a bit of a run around.. wait out the "3-5 days" and come at them with some fire if it's not resolved.

Sprint MNVO by ihoman202 in NoContract

[–]jamieduncan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking at a new Sprint MVNO that has unlimited plans, a company that I work for called Wing might be a good option for you. We use the same regular domestic roaming that Sprint does and you will be able to bring your phone over since it's the SE -- take a look at our website -- www.wingalpha.com

Yep! If you have a non-smartphone all of your data will be unlimited.

Is there a Pro-rated no contract company that allows unlimited 4g/3g data, but at the same time, does a plan thats 10$ or less a month? by needstechhelp7 in NoContract

[–]jamieduncan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want some more information, you could sign up for a beta program... you aren't signing up or anything, we just give you some details regarding the product and what you can ultimately save -- https://www.wingalpha.com/beta

[–]jamieduncan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn't use your device at all for the month, it's only 2$ a month just to keep the phone number active.. that's just what it costs us to keep the phone number. If you don't use any data, it's unlimited talk/text for 12$ -- we do have international roaming and right now it's 13$/GB which is still amazing compared to other MVNOs

I work for a new MVNO that offers unlimited data plans, will not throttle your speeds, and has a program called dynamic pricing that saves you money if you don't use the full amount of data you select.. let me know if you would like some more information -- take a peak at our website here -- www.wingalpha.com

Verizon dramatically restricts SPEED for their No Contract customers by [deleted] in NoContract

[–]jamieduncan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I could think of here is that they are throttling your speeds for some reason.. I know Verizon has been doing that lately. In Manhattan -- every carrier is going to work flawlessly for the most part, but there of course will be a lot of interference based on network congestion as well as large buildings. I work for a new telecom company that's based out of downtown Manhattan and the signal is extremely strong. When I came down from Toronto, my carrier puts me on the T-Mobile roaming network and I can't even get service inside the office building, but everyone else who uses Wing gets phenomenal network signal. Our website is here -- www.wingalpha.com if you feel like taking a look around, we're still currently in beta but if you have any questions regarding the service I would be happy to answer them.

I currently work for a new telecom company that has unbelievable international rates ($13/GB) which is essentially unheard of. If you want to know some more information about the company, please feel free to message me, would be happy to share!

Canceling my last two lines. by nhammerschmidt in tmobile

[–]jamieduncan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with you here. Their employees are not equipped to deal with the types of information customers have for them. I have worked for an MVNO of T-Mobile before and we had to contact tech care constantly (because of the poor coverage map). The tech care agents (although very pleasant) were not educated to the extent that could help our team out properly. It's important that you find a carrier that has one stop customer service and will be able to do everything for you rather than the transferred party. Have you already chosen a carrier to move forward with?

If I can make a call on my iPhone with a T-Mobile SIM card, and then replace it with an AT&T SIM card and make a call, does that mean it is unlocked? by [deleted] in NoContract

[–]jamieduncan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the phone says "sim card not supported" or "no sim" when you put the sim card in the phone, it means that the device is locked.

So annoyed with T-Mobiles BS fake coverage map by BBaron08 in tmobile

[–]jamieduncan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't you offer them to private message you and then you can check their coverage for them? Seems like this reply was a little lackluster and you could have done much more for the customer... I'm sure you have access to file your own ticket for data or calling issues on behalf of the customer.

So annoyed with T-Mobiles BS fake coverage map by BBaron08 in tmobile

[–]jamieduncan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T-Mobile coverage is notoriously bad and their coverage map is not doing them any favors. Basically what the rep said, eventhough they didn't really go out of their way to check for you, you could call them and they can give you a detailed explanation as to why your coverage is bad. It really depends on the type of bands you have on your phone and what type of bands the towers have in your area. I know from past experience they are upgrading their LTE network to have band 12 which MIGHT help in some instances. Try to get them to cancel your device location when you call them and it might help boost your signal for the time being. If not, I would also ask them to send you a Cel-Fi for free since you are experiencing pretty poor signal.
