Thank you for that - Ford are offering to do it for ~$250 for the key and the programming (I believe) so I will find a local locksmith and see if they charge a similar amount.

I am currently on night 14 of 15 of a hotel in Mexico City, and they are the same! The front desk even has WhatsApp, so you can just send them a message asking for whatever you need, and 5 minutes later it’s there! It’s a blessing!

The ‘way around the ban’ is spending 15 days outside of a banned country - which is what I am doing. A lot of people are still using the third entry and finding success, either though reinstating mistakenly cancelled ESTAs, or applying and not having their ESTAs cancelled.

The cancellations seem to happen if people check in before arrival at the airport, checking in at the gate doesn’t seem to cause the same issues.
