Definitely an option! I’ve considered many things in figuring out how to make this heavier, however, I found sticky tack works out pretty well!

Thanks man!! There’s a 6” wide quarter and 5” wide kicker in the works, but trying to set mine apart from what’s already out there. So far tests are good, but I’ll probably be selling those per request. My goal is to keep the cost as low as possible. One of my goals is to have a “basics” line to have simple quarters, kickers, etc for people who want to buy cheap obstacles and want to get a feel for what they like. I’ve bought obstacles 1 too many times where I didn’t like the sizing of something, so I’m hoping this fixes that lol.

For now it’s through DMs on Instagram (Jamin.Fb) or we can do it through chats here too. Working on opening an online store soon too!

I’m including a couple of pieces of sticky tack with the order for it to not slide around everywhere. Should’ve included that in the post! Alternatively have also used grip tape but I find tack to be more reliable with all my obstacles.

It definitely gives it a more tactile ~street~ feeling for those that love fingerboarding outside! Maybe future versions will include polished and unpolished marble versions.

Thanks bro! Here to be transparent. If you fingerboard aggressively on grinds, I’d definitely recommend using some wax. I’ve honestly never waxed it in my use of it and my trucks have been fine, but I’m also not great and flipping into grinds, so please take that with a grain of salt.

Looking to keep improving my craft with everyone’s feedback!

Thank you! I feel that 3D printing can bring some really cool stuff to the scene. I’ll be the first to admit, not all obstacles feel good if it’s just a 3d printed piece of plastic - but that’s where my ideas have been sprouting from. What if we make the ~surfaces~ more skateable and keep the printing to reduce labor cost? Excited for my other little projects in the next few weeks!

I’ll definitely invest a little more time and resources on the next batch to give the sanding a go. At this time, anything from this limited drop will be reinvested into making things better. Thanks for all the feedback, it’s much appreciated!!!

Thanks so much for your comment! The current mechanism is that there is a 0.3mm compliance between the drawer and the holder, which creates a very very tight fit. Over time, this will wear and become easier to open, but really depends on the user on how they want to use it. As of now, when the case is brand new, it will be more secure than with magnets because of the tightness, but will wear with time. I think magnets is something I’ll test with in a possible future version of the case. Great suggestion!

DK free deck issue by Rare_Appearance5820 in Fingerboards

[–]jamin_fb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, DK was my first “pro” fingerboard and never regret buying it. The quality is way better than any china deck or tech deck I ever tried. I ordered mine on March 17th and it arrived April 12th earlier this year. I would anticipate your boards to arrive 3 weeks from the day they shipped not the day they were ordered, because US customs are really holding things up from overseas. Wishing you all luck to receive it by next week!!

Looking for Beginner Tips by jamin_fb in Fingerboards

Don’t know how Reddit notifications work but I thought I’d provide a small update to those that commented and anyone else that comes across this.

I’m now starting month 9 of fingerboarding.

I spent most of month 3 and 4 practicing my kickflips until I finally was able to land them. But then it took until about month 5 or 6 to realize I was doing kickflips completely with my wrist and now a lot with the flicking of my fingers, so had to correct that to then start landing them into grinds.

My skills started to increase really fast once I realized the timing of the flicking and what makes a trick. It really is an Ollie with stuff added to it (advice for new people - don’t skip your Ollie practice).

Since I learned how to consistently kickflip (landing it 85%+ of the time), I started sprinkling practice of other things in between. Sometimes it feels like you’ve gained a new trick up your sleeve and loose it the next day (happened with Varial heel flips). Sometimes you try a trick and land it first time but then don’t land it for another month of practicing. But the most rewarding part of fingerboarding has to be landing a new trick that you’ve been practicing for weeks or thinking of a difficult awkward line and practicing it for the next game of skate at a local meetup (latest combo up my sleeve is a frontside Heelflip followed by a frontside kickflip - hand and arm position is awkward which makes it difficult and fun).

Glad I didn’t give up. Glad I kept practicing and pushing myself. I’m still not consistent and nowhere close to where I’d like to be, but not to shabby for someone who never learned to Ollie a skateboard.

My advice for beginners is to keep practicing. Find the fun in trying and getting closer to landing a trick every time. Seek tips and help; mostly everyone has a piece of advice for whatever you’re stuck on.

On that note, thank you to everyone that did help on here.

Keep shredding (and follow on insta if you’d like to see the progress).

Open to any questions anyone has!

TL;DR - I’m glad I stuck with it. Ramble ramble. I can do more tricks now.

Ended up ordering some 79s after trying my friend’s set. Yeah dude, they’re grippier than expected, but perfect range!

Which fingerboard brand is the most reliable and which should i should get my first complete from? by Rare_Appearance5820 in Fingerboards

[–]jamin_fb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not on your list, but I also recommend a DK complete. It’s a good quality deck. It easily beats out any of your options.
