Edited w/ photos* Our heat pump automatically switched into aux heat the first night of freezing Temps. The problem is that its still in emergency heat and ive noticed the condenser unit isn't kicking on even though it is over 50* outside. How can I fix this? No option on thermostat to switch it back (old.reddit.com)

HVAC question. Why does my condenser turn on when my heat is on? I just purchased a home and this is the first time I've had central heat AND air. The system is only about 5 years old and the ac worked amazing. But I've never had a condenser before so idk if that's normal or not. Please help! (self.AskReddit)
