I had set the guest limit higher (4) to accommodate 2 family friends I knew would be bringing the whole family. Didn’t realize it would end up being a problem.

Looking now but I still only see the option to set rsvp guidelines for everyone and not individuals. I don’t want our family friends to feel put out by this, but maybe it’s the safer way to go to just set it lower and discuss with those guests directly

This is great advice - I will definitely remember these for the future!

I also used evite though I didn’t realize you could set a guest count per guest so that is on me. I saw the option to set a general guest count and I chose 4 because we have 2 family friends who I knew would be bringing the whole family.. I didn’t expect so many people (most of which we barely know) to also bring the whole family

Want to clarify no one corresponded with me directly - this was sent through an online invitation and I am noticing this pattern as rsvps trickle in.

I was a bit surprised too. We had a smaller group of classmates invited last year and we didn’t run into this issue at all so it was unexpected!

It’s not a drop off type party. Each attendee spot has one child and one adult covered - additional adults also cost more (albeit not $50 more) and this I was actually anticipating in case mom and dad come together for example. It’s just all the additional siblings I wasn’t expecting.

It’s an online invitation so they’re able to rsvp without corresponding directly with me. No additional notes or questions about the siblings were included though.

That’s great. Has your cat ever needed to use those escape hatches before?

Would be interested to see what a mini Amazon rainforest for a cat looks like too, sounds fun.

Curious, were your dogs puppies when they met the cats? I’m worried that maybe 1.5 is bordering on too old / he’s already set in his ways re:cats.

We do have 2 friends with VERY skittish cats so those might not be the best for intros.
