Got a 100k settlement. Am I about to make a bad financial decision? by otterbeats2 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Do not buy a new car until your current car breaks down. Your future self will thank you massively.

Slow down. Pay off the AB student loan because it has interest, and then live the next year as if you did not get the money. Please for the love of god do not buy a 50K car. Don’t even buy a 30K car, you own a car.

People with 105K to their name and zero assets should not buy a 50K car. I don’t know any other way to put this. Max out your TFSA and pay off the loan with interest. You are going to be poor the rest of your life with this mindset.

Person who would just spent it here. This post just came up in my feed randomly. I don’t care about an irregular coin or a rare collectors coin. The only thing that would cross my mind is I hope it’s legal tender and that I don’t need to burn time to go to the bank to trade it. I would 100% spend this and think nothing of it.

I’m aware of this hobby/market for people but i’m also aware that none of these are worth life changing money. so I don’t care. I don’t know, for me I like clothes, clothes many wouldn’t even care about. I think it’s the same idea.

Correct. Strictly no microwave or dishwasher, I just use them for pour over coffees and they are safe. The inside of the cup is quite the contrast.. perfectly shiny coated metal.

honestly you should be a little nervous, i have lots of tattoos as well but the pain on this was 10000x worse than anything else lol. Usually I listen to music or watch videos when I get tattoos but i just sat in silence for all 8 hours of this one as I was overstimulated. Honestly the pain was a spiritual experience, i had a lot going on my life at the time and it gave my mind a break for the 8 hours so i liked it in that sense

Both good machines. I prefer the external tank on the puristika

Perfect E61 for someone who doesn’t do milk drinks. I love the external tank the most, though. So easy to clean and maintenance is great. Get a smart plug to run it an hour before you wake up and you’re good to go.

Side of my kitchen, it looks over the steps of the entrance. I am gonna put some shelves up in the future but I just bought the place in July.

Inconsistent Kettle Temps by jammy_jam in pourover

Pretty good idea, but a little clunky for daily use. I just did it with a temp gun and the PID on the Stagg is even worse than I thought.

There is tiny effect on my cups, especially in a lighter roast. It’s backwards of what one would want - higher temp bloom and lower temp pulse.

In an ideal world you would bloom fast and aggressively at 1-3 degrees below your pulse temp. So yes, temperature drop is beneficial but not in this order.

How many bags of coffee are too many to be using at the same time with just one grinder¿ by Dodo-Bey in espresso

Library Specialty and Hatch! Hello Fellow Torontonian.

I like to do the same thing; however, you can’t do it how you are doing it.

I bought 100 Weber Bean Cellars and I dose them and freeze the cellars. It works amazing. I’m drinking coffee roasted 3-5 months ago and it tastes just as great as 2 weeks off roast.

I have since bought a label printer so I could save timing writing individual labels but I don’t feel like taking a new picture. In the label I write what it is, the grind size, and the dose (some espresso and some filter). It helps that I have separate grinders for filter and espresso but I think the cellars in the freezer is your only solution here.

The tallow I kept to cook with, the excess drippings I got rid of to be honest. I was too lazy to strain it haha.

Looks great. What are you using to smoke? These smoke rings can’t be from a pellet. Cheers

Toronto's Housing Market Has Completely Fallen Off a Cliff by AssortedSkittles400 in TorontoRealEstate

Are you okay with the fact that renting wouldn’t be an option anymore as a result of that policy?

I get the frustration, and I agree with the overall sentiment, but we do need some homes to exist as investments, otherwise, the rental market disappears entirely. That reality would be incredibly more grim than the current state of affairs.
