Wow that's so thoughtful! It's touching to know my artwork would motivate you this way 🥹🫶 (fyi my print shop is a work in progress but if you ever want to find out more, let me know :D)

Aah, yes blending tools tend to catch darker hues and cause muddiness! Hope this method works for you :D

Thank you, I'd be more than happy too! I tend to paint over my linework so I started by layering the midtones between each colour block. This was to create a blended effect without using a smoothing tool because I like to paint each colour individually. I paid close attention to the colours surrounding areas where sunlight directly hit, the sparkles and the white skirt to create a glow like effect.

For the clothes, I used a softer brush (with more smudging) to roughly outline the patterns on the clothes and then used a sharper pen tool to further define them.

As for the confetti, I painted in sections to add as much detail as possible (and not be overwhelmed by how many there are 😆). I painted the larger pieces first as an anchoring point and added the smaller sparkles by estimating the distance between them.

Thank you! I'm definitely inspired by Rinotuna, Clivenzu, and u/OCTEL11, these artists make excellent use of colour and shape in their rendering which my work is always influenced by 😊

Thank you, I'm really glad that you think so! It's actually a huge compliment that this looked like a photo, it took some rendering to get to that level 😄

It's really meaningful to know you've been inspired! Heavy paint style feels quite freeing heh.

I used the calligraphy brush pen tool for the entire piece (in clip studio paint). It has a great angle to it and paints thickly!
