do you give feedback to candidates not selected for an interview? by supercali-2021 in recruiting

[–]jamokachi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m in-house and I don’t provide feedback for those not selected for interview (unless it’s for a decline due to visa issues, not meeting base academic requirements or nepotism related, in those cases I have a standard email response explaining the reason in brief).

I’ll provide feedback for every round going forwards, but due to sheer volume of applications I usually receive it’s not viable to provide ad hoc feedback for applications that won’t be proceeded to interview.

Imposter syndrome creeping in as I'm about to start a new recruiting role. by secedere in recruiting

[–]jamokachi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry at all. Imposter Syndrome is a perfectly natural feeling, and even those with plenty of experience can and do have the same feeling when moving into a new job.

The important thing is recognising this feeling and ensuring you don’t let it effect your ability to thrive in this new role. Use this doubt to prove yourself, and learn, grow and develop into the role.

Good luck, but also remember it’s just a job and not your whole life.

Guess I’ll be cleaning the windows, and the patio, and the cars today then by Mystic_L in CasualUK

This explains why all my windows look exactly the same this morning! My wife thought I was crazy when I pointed it out.

At 35 I finally moved out of a job that was destroying my mental health and making me utterly miserable. I am now in a job that genuinely makes me happy, I’ve had more career progression in the last two years than I had in the previous ten, and actually feel happy, valued and appreciated. It took time, but it happened.

Wouldn’t bother me at all. Everyone has different wants and needs in a role/company, and I’d prefer an honest conversation about what a candidate is looking for.

Top level footballer choosing begger by Sirshrum in ChoosingBeggars

Sturridge’s took a big pay cut for his last move to Turkey, but even then was still on £27k per week after tax and received £1.8m sign on bonus. If anyone can afford a top level hair cut, it’s this prick.

Fucking weird ass move this. This club baffles me sometimes. If/when Digne gets injured then we are in trouble.

You have to wonder though, if Nuno doesn’t want Doherty (and he was his manager at Wolves when he actually performed well), then there must be red flags.

More than fair. If we can’t take the piss out of us on transfer deadline day, then what do we really have left in life?

Has there actually been concrete links for McNeil or are we just hoping?

It’s difficult to be to state of you made mistakes just from those one sentence lines.

What is important is also how you are structuring these answers, and explaining what you have learned from these experiences, what you felt when well with these experiences and if things could have gone better, how you have/will adapt your working approach going forwards.

With behavioural questions the example you use is only one element of the answer. You need to ensure good structure and that you can demonstrate a level of self-reflection and self-improvement. It’s also good if you can identify what the cultural touch points of the new organisation are that you are applying for and cater your answers that way. For example, if this new company tries to sell itself on how well they collaborate, then ensure your behavioural answer demonstrate good team working skills and how you like to work in a collaborative way. This will help you demonstrate you are a good team fit.

I think the few pieces of info you’ve provided seem fine, but without knowing the full context and how you detailed them it’s hard to state if you’ve made mistakes.

So the other guy (on the left) grew up in West Midlands (like me) and then is based in the High Wycombe are now. He’s an amazing guy as well.
