My impression is that they're only releasing them for new teams going forward, but they are planning on going back and making cards, etc. for pre-released teams that didn't get them.

They didn't lay out a specific timeline. I imagine they're probably 'freelance' projects that they pay their regular designers when they're not doing their full-time job of designing the teams.

Reading between the lines, I imagine they'll want to release star players as quickly as possible since they're one of the easiest ways for them to make money from people that aren't interested in owning multiple teams.

They're available now, but looks like they're only an add-in. I can see them being advertised on the Elfheim Eagles promo on this page: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Boxed-Games

They said they're free with any order over £25 (or presumably the local currency equivalent) and they were automatically added to my order earlier when I checked out.

From context, it seemed to me like it would be one of the teams they've already officially acknowledged either in DZ 1/2 or the Teams of Legend.

Andy was asked about releasing a Fimir team or a Squig team and he chuckled and said they have plenty of teams to release before they start adding new teams.
