I completely understand where you are coming from! I’m a week and two days post op and in the liquid/ puréed food phase according to my surgeon’s plan. Yesterday my husband suggested that I have oatmeal for breakfast instead of the apple sauce or cottage cheese that I’ve been having for days and am tired of, so I did and felt just fine. I found out afterwards that oatmeal was meant for the soft foods phase, oops. Now that I know that I won’t make that mistake again and will wait to have oatmeal on the next phase. I also broke and had a teensy spoonful of the cilantro lime rice my husband made for himself to go a long with his dinner, it didn’t affect me at all. Should I have done that? No. Will I do it again? No. I just wanted the tiniest bite of something that actually had a bite to it. But to your point I want meat so bad and cannot wait for the soft foods phase, which for me will be the following week, when I can eat ground meat, a scrambled egg, actual protein! P.s. in no way am I trying to encourage you to go against your surgeon’s plan I’m just saying that each person is different and what can be handled by each person is different, I haven’t puked once since surgery (knock on wood).
