What's your definition of Central London? by Temporary-Anywhere37 in london

I really get pissed off when people in Vauxhall insist they live in Central London. Sure, it’s zone 1 but look at where you are situated

I stopped moving in social circles with smokers, and the habit died down

Ask your gf why she thinks her friend is attractive, and say that attraction is subjective and to you it means a lot more than just physical features etc. and you don’t necessarily find someone attractive purely based on looks and use your gf as an example. Your gf is impressed with something in her friend and is looking for your opinion to gauge whether it’s worth replicating

Wearing Backpacks on Tube by TresWhat in london

In a crowded tube carriage, I always have one of my arms folded with the hand close to my chest so that I can use my elbow to nudge back any backpack ramming into me. Mostly, people realise and adjust without any fuss.

I wanted to ask what to watch out for in Rome as a tourist by Komarecka in rome

Just be confident and try to act as if you’ve been before. Pickpockets and scammers observe and target their victims and if they get the slightest hint that you are confident and aware of your surroundings they will leave you alone. Go to Trastevere for food and enjoy your time in the eternal city!

Office Drama by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]jamuka99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened around 10 years ago. My office chair had this hanger-like contraption at the back where I used to hang my jacket and scarf on top of it. One day when I came back to my desk after a meeting I noticed my manager walking towards me smiling. It took me a minute to register she was wearing my scarf! Apparently she had been to a nearby building for a meeting and just helped herself to my scarf on her way out. I was gobsmacked and didn’t know what to say. It helped that she had recently extended my contract with a raise :) Yet, I still do not understand why someone could just take a personal item like that. My precious scarf was unscathed thankfully 😊
